I'm hanging my hopes on what Johnny Doyle said a few weeks ago that Glenn etc were speaking to him and he expected to see him playing for Kildare next year
Paddy Woodgate is most certainly up to this level. Should never have been dropped last year. 2nd top scorer on the team in his debut season he should be starting in 2023 for his scoring and work rate alone
I doubt that he hardly scored more than kirwin and ben

I see that the team have additional shirt sponsors this year. I’m assuming that means a new jersey?

No : you can get sticky badges from the county board to put onto old jerseys.

The worrying part is I've no idea if this is satire or not

Current jersey has been taken off the O’Neill’s website. New one on the way so. Snake or nothing.

Maynooth University (still prefer NUIM) bet UCD 1-7 to 9 points tonight in the Division 1 final. Led the entire way through but almost blew it in the 2nd half, went 1-6 to 4 up at the start of the 2nd half and then scored the winning point in the 3rd minute of stoppage time.
Paddy McDermott and Shane O'Sullivan both started in the full forward line, Cian Burke, Jack Quinn, Colm Harnett and John Lawlor all featured as well. Extended squad also includes Darragh Kirwan, Luke Killian, Ryan Burke and Dermot Hanafin.
Would imagine Sigerson football will tie those and few others from previous U20 and minor teams up for most of January and early February so will again impact the amount of chances they get early on.

another accolade for Davy Burke, great achievement in fairness some of the colleges are stacked with intercounty footballers and top managers fair play to Maynooth and hopefully they will go well in the sigurson

Went over to the game. Decent game. Maynooth tactically very well set up. Some improvement from maynooth since he took them on last year outright. College football is class. Some cracking games and talent on show

That has to be the most Kildare county board thing I’ve ever read!

I hardly had a thought about County football since the Mayo game. It's a bonus of the split season that you basically can switch off for six months. But it's on the horizon again so might as well get back into it even if it seems harder than usual.
Anyway first thing I see is Kildare releasing a new Jersey in deepest darkest January.
How did that conversation go.
"We should get this out before Christmas, everyone is looking for things to buy people, shops are busy, money is being spent and people are in a good mood so are more willing to spend €70 on a jersey.
"Nah, let's release it when everyone ones pissed off, broke and the only thing you have to look forward to is the end of January"
"Are you sure"
"Yep, can't think of a better way of doing it, how's the stadium upgrades going"
The most Kildare thing I've probably heard. Good to be back at it.

Luke Flynn is a big boost. Jack Robinson unproven at this level, a huge talent.

Jack is a proper player looking forward to see him playing , surprised to not see sam doran get a shout think he’s a great player so skilful , Jack Quinn called but questionable as he didn’t play any game for the 20s .

Robinson has incredible ability, but so did Niall Kelly who unfortunately has great future behind him.
But if Robinson really applies himself, the sky's the limit – his goal against Mayo minor 2016 best Kildare underage goal I've ever seen.
If Robinson, L Flynn and Dempsey are onboard, and we've kept McCormack, to me that is the best Kildare squad available with the exception of McLoughlin, who we can live without for one year.
Until we become a consistent Div 1 team, we need to treat all league games as championship – it's that important to development of the side. We simply aren't good enough to have a mediocre league and turn it come summer, and that's the truth. Four home games this time around, so new excuses.
I want a solid defensive plan and I want them playing like men possessed, which to be fair we usually see in Newbridge games – trick now to transfer it to Croker.

Dublin in Croker a tough ask given our abysmal record up there, although I'm certainly interested in the performance. Are the players in the mood to right a few wrongs and start putting in improved displays on the biggest stage? If they have anything about them, they should be.
Otherwise, the three key games are home. If we can't enough additional points from those away fixtures we've no business being in Div 1 tbh.
