Robinson has incredible ability, but so did Niall Kelly who unfortunately has great future behind him.
But if Robinson really applies himself, the sky's the limit – his goal against Mayo minor 2016 best Kildare underage goal I've ever seen.
If Robinson, L Flynn and Dempsey are onboard, and we've kept McCormack, to me that is the best Kildare squad available with the exception of McLoughlin, who we can live without for one year.
Until we become a consistent Div 1 team, we need to treat all league games as championship – it's that important to development of the side. We simply aren't good enough to have a mediocre league and turn it come summer, and that's the truth. Four home games this time around, so new excuses.
I want a solid defensive plan and I want them playing like men possessed, which to be fair we usually see in Newbridge games – trick now to transfer it to Croker.
Pretty sure Mark Dempsey and Luke Flynn aren’t available.

Game V Limerick is a double header in the Gaelic Grounds with the Limerick hurlers playing Wexford afterwards.

Any takers for croker ? Unfortunately as previously reported i can't make it....cuttin me toenails !!!
It's terrible to think it will be more than 6 months since Kildare's last competitive inter county game & yet I have next to no interest in going to the first one back. Like bite the pillow, Dublin in Croker has so little appeal. (I might make an O'Byrne cup game or two but I don't count them as competitive)
Like everyone else here, i'm a diehard and doubt I'll be going to first game either. Two reasons:
1. GAA's shameless prioritising of Dublin (side-bar: John Costello's whinging about cutbacks in Dub funding this week truly cringe-worthy). We are owed almost 30 years of home games against them – that's not a joke, it's literally true – and yet we're supposed to be grateful for ONE home game.
At senior and underage, we routinely beat them in Newbridge and provincial venues, despite rampant financial doping. If we play them in Leinster semi-final this year, we need to turn it into a major bust-up in having that match at a minimum in provincial venue (but it should actually be in Newbridge).
2. This Kildare team has developed a psychological block about playing in Croke Park, which I think they're in denial about. All I can say is, I hope team and management are addressing it.
I've been saying for years that Neil Flynn should be in team – terrific player and genius free-taker. Honestly can't understand why he doesn't start more.
Impact subs...
D Ryan Sargent L Flynn Cribbin O'Sullivan
Honestly not far off Div 1 standard squad if we can tighten up the defence.

I'm actually surprised somebody hasn't mentioned Costello's moan before now. You almost have to admire the neck of him. Extraordinary stuff.

N Flynn doesn't have the work rate to play at 10 or 12. Pretty sure D Ryan and L Flynn are not involved this year as previously reported here

Instead of people outlining teams with lads who aren’t even in the panel, can anybody give us a list of the ACTUAL panel?

This management team keep their cards close to their chest regarding the panel. I don’t ever remember an official panel being revealed last year. The starting 15 in the official programme for the Mayo game was the same starting 15 as the Leinster final even though there was 5 actual changes! From what I can gather, James Murray, Darragh Ryan & Brian McLoughlin are all unavailable for 2023. Haven’t heard much about any new lads on the panel.

Heard tonight that the 2 Ryan brothers are gone to Australia. Can’t blame young lads for wanting to travel but bad news for Kildare.

Sssh people don't like to hear the sad truth that playing for Kildare isn't as enticing as it once was. Use this as a dislike button all ye want, but it's the sad reality until County board get off their arse and start pumping money into our teams. Only hope of kildare winning anything at the minute is an o'byrne cup and beat a weak dublin team an we think all is great. January is when we peak.

seen it leinster leader a few weeks ago said 9 players gone but no names mentioned
James Murray, Shay Ryan, Darragh Ryan & Brian McLoughlin not on the panel this year. Only 1 week until the first O’Byrne Cup game. Hopefully we will see some new players get a chance in the games.

So there’s potentially two positions at least, up for grabs in the back line.
The obvious switch is Davy Hyland to CB. He was more assured in his one outing there, than Murray all year.
A spot to be filled in the FB line and cover for Feely seem to be the main selection decisions to be made.

With Eoin Doyle back will he fill in the open slot in the full back line? We don’t have too much depth in defence. As for the midfield, the modern game is about pace. For me, Kevin Flynn is ideal for the midfield.
