Leinster finals 98 & 00 videos?

Hi folks,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me, I'm looking for videos of the Leinster finals of 1998 and 2000 when Kildare won. I was looking to get them transfered on DVD and give them to my dad as a Christmas present. for for the mention of the "C" word so soon after Halloween!!!!

I've been onto RTE and they put me onto another crowd but have had no joy with either.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A very simple method would be connect your VCR to your TV and also a DVD recorder or PC to your TV (most modern TV's should have 2 SCART connections or a mixture of SCART/HDMI/RCA/S-Video). Play your video and press record on your DVD recorder or PC. If using your PC try Windows Moviemaker.

i think xtra vision or chartbusters in newbridge bring take them in clean them up and put them onto dvd dunno how much it costs though save the hassle

A company in Naas do it if you're not inclined towards doing it yourself.

You can buy the official 98 final at the above link, I don't know about the 2000 leinster but you could email them.

Sorry I mistook the post for the 98 final instead of the leinster, when you think of it that would be too painful to watch after your christmas dinner.

I was looking for these before too.
RTE told me if I wanted to buy the match off them I'd have to get permission from the GAA and it'd cost me 120euro per match. The GAA store mainly do All Ireland finals as far as i know.
It's a pity they're so hard to find cause I've heard a lot of people saying they'd love to see them again

I wonder would it be worth checking out TG4? as they seem to have a fairly comprehensive video archive, but where probably straying into copyright territory again?.

I'll try TG4 too. If any one has a copy I'll try stick them on a DVD and see what the quality is like.

I'm really surprised that the 98 final was not brought out especially after it been so long since we won it. Missed opportunity for the GAA/RTE to make money!!!!!

If tg4 play it on All ireland gold, you could record it on to your telivision. I personally would love to have my own copy of those leinster finals and the all ireland semi final in 98!

I was at a club presentation night for JDs all star in Allenwood a couple of weeks ago and a guy over there had made a DVD covering highlights of Johnnys football career from U11 or U12 right up to the All Stars night. His company is called www.dundaraproductions.ie accordin to the DVD and he does copying etc. Mite be worth a try.
