| Round 2
Kildare v Leitrim Dublin v Tipperary Cork v Cavan Offaly v Waterford Westmeath v Derry Down v Longford Armagh v Fermanagh Galway v Wexford
In round 3 does the 8 winners of the above games be drawn against each other to see who plays the provincial Final losers?
Not taking our game who does people see winning the rest of the games? Dublin,Cork,Offaly,Derry, Down, Armagh and Galway. If we do beat Leitrim, no easy draw in there. |

| Yep that's it fionn-the 8 winners from these ties play each other and the four winners play the four provincial losers in round 4. Quarter-finals then. | |

| Dubs got lucky with home tie. They will win that one. Cork - handy win Offaly should do it at home. I'd give Westmeath a chance against Derry. Down at home. Armagh should have too much for Fermanagh. Again Galway should do it with home advantage.
IF we beat Leitrim and its "IF" then the only team I'd be worried about facing would be Cork. We would have a decent chance against the other 6. Everyone is at the same level.

| Boll*cks. i thought the next round was against provincial losers. We still have a long way to go yet.next round (if we get there) wil be very tough.
I just hope the team aren't underestimating leitrim as much as some the fans are.

| I think Wexford will put it up to Galway. Galway are very ordinary this year | |

| I dont think anybody is underestimating Leitrim and if they do they need their head examined. Leitrim are going through a very emotional year for them and they were very unlucky to loose to Roscommon. We are notoriously bad at failing to so called underdogs in qualifiers e.g. Roscommon, Sligo, Offaly and Louth.
Just thinking about it i think with Galway beating us in 98 and 2000 and Roscommon and Sligo doing us in qualifiers and with Mayo dishing out hidings to us in the leagues we have terrible records against Connacht teams.
Ah jaysus, we may as well just give up.

I ran the numbers with a €20 accumulator on Paddy Powers. Its hardly worth it bar you pick Westmeath to beat Derry. Even at that its only a €400 return from a €20 bet on 8 games. Chances of 8 games coming in for you any weekend is very slim. There is usually some sort of upset.

| Hoping for a decent performance again this weekend from Kildare. They seem to be playing there way into some form now and finding the best balance for the team so hope that continues this weekend.
If they could get another home draw in next round I reckon they could give most teams a good game. If I had my choice I'd go for Offaly / Waterford winners.

Its been a while since turdman has been in Courtown.

| McGeeney could use Qualifiers like Jack O Connor last year and learn about his players in matches as he goes along, train hard during week and take a chance you win at w/e. They would be flying by Q/F stage and could ease off then and just do speed and ball work | |

| Am I right in saying that if we stay wining (lets hope) that we play every weekend up to the 1/4 finals on the August bank holiday weekend. That would be 6 weekends straight (due to our replay). So much for not training in the winter because of player burn out. | |

| Pretty much, thats the knock on effect of having 22 wides....
As for the possible round 3 opponents, I'd agree with Sam, Cork aside, i would be fairly positive going facing any of those teams. Obviously I'm not discounting Leitrim but looking forward, any of the other teams are beatable.
Funny enough I think the round 3 fixtures could be more difficult than round 4. The glamour draw would be Dublin in Newbridge. What an atmosphere that would be.
First and foremost we need to see a win on Saturday against a Leitrim team that will be playing with alot of emotion and heart. Kildare's second half performance in Casement must be replicated for 50+ minutes this weekend. This would then be a great platform to attack the next round

| Just a word on the qualifiers. Like them or hate them I certainly enjoying seeing us play teams that we would rarely play such as Antrim and Leitrim this year and even the likes of Tyrone and Cork in recent years. | |

| Have to agree Sam, playing different teams does add to the game. It also means that you get to go to different venues. Can now count on one hand the number of county venues that I have not being to. Just hope I have to visit a few more before the end of the summer. | |

| July 10/11: Qualifiers Round 2: Kildare v Leitrim; Dublin v Tipperary; Cork v Cavan; Offaly v Waterford; Galway v Wexford; Fermanagh v Armagh; Down v Longford; Westmeath v Derry. (First named at home). July 17: Qualifiers Round 3: Round 2 winners play off against each other in four games. July 24: Qualifiers Round 4: Round 3 winners v beaten provincial finalists. July 31/August 1/2/3: All-Ireland quarter-finals. August 22: All-Ireland semi-final, Croke Park. August 29: All-Ireland semi-final, Croke Park. September 19: All-Ireland final, Croke Park.
Somebody asked the format earlier....it will not be easy to reach a quarter final. Round 3 is most likely goin to be a lot harder than round 4.
Would we be happy with another quarter final spot this year?

| Reaching the 1/4 finals would mean winning 3 more games in the next 3 weeks. I believe that would be a good achievement alright. It will be tough though. At the moment would i take it...? i don't think so. i'd like to take a gamble and see how we fair out.
If our heads are right, and no injuries i wouldnt fear anyone. |

| Round 2 winners likely to be:
Kildare Dublin Cork Offaly Down Armagh Derry Galway
Should we beat Leitrim Anyone at home, anyone but Derry and Cork away.
I'm still going to counselling for our last trip to Derry.
Dublin at home would be sweet, actually i want dublin at home should we beat Leitrim. |

| Look at the possible beaten Provincial finalists that will come in at round 4 ( Limerick, Roscommon(prob), Louth (prob) and maybe Monaghan)
I think any of the 4 qualifier teams that emerge with momentum behind them would take those teams with the exception of the beaten Ulster finalists who will be tough as usual.
I dont know but do beaten provincial finalists ever do well in the AI series afterwards?? maybe Kerry and Cork but Munster is a cakewalk (no disrespect to limerick who are getting close)

| A home draw against anyone but Cork. Dublin in Newbridge would be chaotic but a fantastic evening, hell even an away draw to Dublin would be good as it would be in Croker and we owe them one.
Away to the biffos would be good, but a home draw is very important as the teams left in will be hard task away.
Anyway none of that matters unless we beat Leitrim.
Heads down lads, there is much work to do.

| Id fancy us against the Dubs, they look all over the place this year and the fans are against Gilroy but this all means nothing if we dont beat Leitrim.
