Himself and Tomas O'Connor as inside forward line would be fascinating, defenders would have to stay deep, leaving room to run for likes of Callaghan and Smith. Just a thought, although Dermot needed around the middle by looks of it. On side note, speaking of O'Connor, been watching a lot of American football in recent years and have seen how they are taught to catch a ball, getting their elbows wide and wrapping hands around the sides of the ball. It's interesting that it's exactly how O'Connor catches a ball and makes him such a danger.

Agree Tommy, would love to see it. Imagine the consternation with the two big men up there. There's 2 or 3 backs on top of Tomas every time he gets a ball. Maybe with Hughie back.

Hughie is behind Dermot but is doing all the contact work, played in the second half as well against Waterford on Friday night. But we won't see him for a little bit yet.

I see what lads are saying about Dermot in full but... well, we have tried that haven't we? And it was fucking awful! And anyway, he's needed much more in the middle. Having said that, I would imagine he'll probably come on for Tommy or in the inside line the next few weeks.

In McGeeney's early days Dermot was tried at FF and it simply didnt work.

Midfield is his baby, its where he lords it.

The catch it kick it die-hards from days of yore would love a full forward line of Lynch, O'Connor and Earley.

Get it to half backs / midfield and lump it high and long and watch the feeding frenzy. Just need a speedy little shit buzzing around the 3 of them for lay offs.

Could change the face of gaelic football I tell ya!!!!

Seriously though, great to see him back. Himself and JD epitomise Kildare GAA for me.
