| What's the opinion on the joint effort between the GAA and IRFU/IRB to bring the World Cup 2023 to Ireland. Are we foolish in helping a rival sport flourish??
The sports editor in one of our local newspaper says that there will be a knock on for St. Conleths and this will happen during the GAA presidency of MartyMcEvoy...for whom the editor has a serious man-crush!!

| I think its a great idea... The world cup will be staged in Oct Nov I believe so the intercounty scene will have finished, the promotion of tourism to our GAA stadiums ans the possible financial benefits to the GAA in these lean times can not be underestimated. Added to the mix im sure there will be grants given to upgrade some of the stadia aswell.
Its a win win in my books anyway

| I'm a sports fan so I'd be delighted with it. And I presume the amount of green involved is significant. If they use it wisely, it's win-win. | |

| See the Ulster boys are totally against it, even at this early stage. Don't expect to see a scrum at Casement Park. | |

| I was in favour of Croke Park opening up as otherwise Ireland would play their home games away. This is more serious i think. Already 2 of our under 16's are on the Souht west leinster juvenile(sic) seconds development squad. While they haven't a hope in hell of making it at rugby, all the hype and tv coverage from now on will be about Leinster and i think will impress the kids. A world cup here will surely be huge for rugby and 'this is rugby country' crowd. Should we open up our stadia to help the opposition. I'm not from the north??? | |

Sure a good Lark running it you'd have to have one or three.... Still defying the odds considering watering holes are closing in big town's.... The Larks will always have a spot there with plenty of the blues and Carbury men frequenting it. The bridge will be open soon and we'll be back to normality...

| I would like to see it here but Rugby is taking a lot of our underage players and teh best ones at that. It might hurt to here this but it is looked on as a more cooler becasue of leinster success sport and the possibility of making a living out of it makes it even harder for the GAA to hold on the the top players.
