Good idea, definitely worth trying.

Novel idea alright.

Seems to work well for the Dubs in terms of the club championship with midweek games under lights anyways so could well be worth trying for the provincial championships.

Could be good for tv as it would give another fixture slot that RTE, TV3 or Setanta could pick up to show live games.

As far as attendances go it might well be tough on people who commute to / from work, especially in Dublin, or those with families, as getting to somewhere from Portlaoise on a Friday evening could prove tricky.

Be slightly surprised though if the Offaly footballers aren't put on as a double header with hurlers against Kilkenny.

Portlaoise is a great venue for Kildare, love flying our flag out the car when we are going through Laois. Smile

What has Gracefield in the middle of winter got to do with PortLaoise on a Summer's evening. I don't get the comparison.

Think its an awful idea. There's a large proportion of the Kildare fanbase working in Dublin and to make it to Portlaoise for a friday evening is no go.
