| That sounds very much like a come and get me. He's certainly putting his cards on the table anyway.

| Couldn't be a clearer come and get me. He's only interested in being manager though judging from that, and definitely not interested in just being the S & C man... | |

| Taking on a job as a fitness trainer or S&C coach would be a step backwards for Cian O'Neill now. He's coaching Kerry. Like he says, it's a manager's job that's the next progression for him and it's only Kildare or one of the big jobs he'll take. So it isn't Julie's job he'd be getting. It's either McGeeney's or Jason Ryan's if he were to come in. | |

| Well then I guess he will have to wait a little longer wont he to get the hotseat. I dont see why he would not be tempted by working as a coach for Kildare with McGeeney he can learn the kildare set up the lads etc with a view of taking the job in a couple of years time that way he is not starting from scratch and the foundation would be set for him to take over at that stage??? |

| He's clearly a talented strength and conditioning coach but what experience does he have actually managing a team?

| Got the impression from that article that he wasn't ready to commit to a managerial role for anther year or two. If that is the case then he would look like a shoo in to replace McGeeney if as rumoured he stays on for another 2 years. He probably has more managerial experience than McGeeney had in 07. | |

| what about David Matthews? He's a Kildare man http://www.hoganstand.com/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=198393 Great point about preparing teams to peak at the right time, i think to be fair in 08-11 this was the case with Kildare but this year they seemed to blow the load awful early and looked to have nothing in the tank come June/July. Amazing that 2 of the most high profile teams in the country are backboned by Kildare men. | |

| Maybe a drop back to division 2 in the league we can peak for the championship in June/July because we are in Division 1 you nearly have to be on the boil all the time | |

| But Sam is almost always won by a Division 1 team. playing in Division 1 should be a help, not a hindrance. | |
