right at tonight county board meeting they have asked question change club championsip format for senior and intermediate to return toold format of the 4 groups top 2 into quarters final or the championship format of last three years the club will vote at april meeting

The format at the moment is the best one we've had in a long time. Something riding on every game. Absolutely no need for change in my opinion.

+1.  No need for change, in its current format every game is important with no dead rubbers.   Having been directly invovled in the championship over the last 10 years I have to say the current system is excellent.

Its a pity that the county board trying to fix something that is not broke while ignoring the things that are broke.

No harm in a healthy debate but unless they are certain there is a better system then it should be left alone.

The current system is excellent. It's not without its minor flaws mind but you would want to have a fairly short memory to think that the round robin system we had previously wasn't much more deeply flawed.

Any update on this or any idea when the draw for the 1st round will be made.

Whenis the First Round ?

The structure will be decided at the April county board meeting and I think the 1st round is the weekend of 8/9/10th of May

I don't think the vast majority of players would be too bothered what the format is once its run properly.

Yeah. Players not really interested once the structure is right and the games are played on time and with good prior notice. It really is a huge issue. Players would love to condense everything into a few months. Get it all done and dusted. SO they can actually have some sort of life

Championship structure to remain the same as last three years, draw takes place next Monday night.
