Croke Park result this evening showed how much a ref can influence a game. B Cawley in charge last month & after he sent 3 Offaly players Longford won well. Today with a pretty fair ref Offaly hammered Longford.................... Many thanks to Brendan for the motivation,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Big pitch, referee, insert myth here. I'll tell you what, those games in Croke Park in front of 8,000 isn't a reward for players, it's an insult. It's like allowing 8-year-olds a kid's table at your New Year's Party, put them away at 10 as they felt important, now let's hit it hard.

Seen as Cormac Reilly is still on the list are any of our refs not up to the standard. The ai semi final replay was a mess caused solely by inept refereeing.

...I for one believe no commentators on radio or TV have actually read the rules. If everyone read the rules instead of interpreting what they were coached and perceive to be the rules then maybe we might just see the game from the refs angle

Problem is that in key areas there aren't actually any clear rules.

Fintan Barrett wears that Whistle as a Medallion, cause He certainly dosen't use it.. Thats the 4th time I have seen Him Ref this Year, and everytime there is a Row.. Maybe He would be better suited to Snooker, as He wouldnt have to call as many Fouls.

He is a disaster of a ref, there are a few bad ones in the county but he stands out as being the worst. He thinks the match is all about him, acts like a control freak and has a terrible attitude towards players on the pitch and ruins almost every game he refs.
Niall Colgan is a very good ref imo.
