| Well thats the league over and done with thank god. Plenty of positives to take from it and some old frailties also evident. Its either Laois or Longford in Tullamore on June 4th. wont be an easy game regardless of who comes through. team i would go for
1.Donnellan 2. O Grady 3. D Hyland 4. P Kelly 5. O Lyons 6. E Doyle 7. K Cribben 8. F Dowling 9. K Feely 10 F Conway 11. N Kelly 12. P Cribben 13. Slattery 14. Dan Flynn 15. McCormack

| Lost me at no.4 there BigBall. Can't see any justification for that.
The half-back line from a defensive perspective is still too loose for me and the midfield too immobile. I think Johnny Byrne has come on in leaps and bounds but neither he nor K.Cribbin have been able to hold the runners too easily. Not sure what the answer is but I don't think bringing Kelly back in improves us at all.
My inclination would be to move Dan Flynn back to midfield and Conway back to the half back line in a swap with Keith. Feely perhaps can sit deeper than Flynn with Feely the "quarter back" and Flynn breaking forward. Flynn can also track runners when we are not in possession and get back quicker than Moolick can. That's perhaps a bit harsh on Moolick who played better than Feely yesterday but overall is not performing at his best.
As of April 10th I'd go with:
1. Donnellan 2. O'Grady 3. Hyland 4. Lyons 5. Conway 6. Doyle 7. Byrne 8. Feely 9. Flynn 10. K.Cribbin 11. Dowling 12. P.Cribbin 13. McCormack 14. Kelly 15. N Flynn
Slattery and Healy would be close to a start ahead of Neil Flynn - I don't think there's much in that particularly seeing how good Feely is on frees (better than Flynn in my opinion). Obviously performances in training/ club/ challenges over the next two months would dictate that.
Slattery might be better surprising teams off the bench though as he did against Down and yesterday.
Dowling wasn't great yesterday (few were) but is a natural scorer and fielder when on his game so gives us something extra around the middle.
Hope Ben's injury isn't as bad as it looked.

| Loads can change but at this stage, if everyone was fit, I'd go with:
1 Donnellan 2 O'Grady 3 Hyland 4 Healy 5 Byrne 6 Doyle 7 Lyons 8 Dowling 9 Feely 10 Conway 11 Kelly 12 P Cribbin 13 N Flynn 14 D Flynn 15 McCormack
With Keith, Moolick, Slattery and Chris Healy decent options off the bench.

| Mescal, Powderly would be good options to have in the full back line | |

Mescal is unavailable due to other commitments.. not sure about powderly, but was tried previously and isn't inter county level. Didn't mean to be as blunt.. was just having a shit Monday, even more shity than usual.

| Powderly is recovering from a cruciate injury.
I don't see the logic in starting Peter Kelly. He has looked a shadow of his former self in recent years.
I think Dowling and Slattery would be better being introduced off the bench when a game is a bit looser. Obviously that depends on McCormack and the two Flynns being available.

| I think powderly is as good a man marker as we have. Last year was his first year at IC level and having spoken to a number of lads on the pnael last year they felt he was becoming a "big player" for kildare. | |

| If all fit:
1-Donnellan 2-O Grady 3-Hyland 4-Lyons 5-Byrne 6-Doyle 7-Conway 8-Feely 9-Moolick 10-Dowling 11-Kelly 12-P Cribbin 13-N Flynn 14-D Flynn 15-McCormack
Think that is our strongest line up. Dont see how people could leglislate bringing P Kelly in, no disrespect to him as he was fantastic the year he got his deserved All Star but I have not seen anything since that have made me thought he was good enough, granted he did have terrible injuries. People being harsh on Moolick imo, has been a key member in our team throughout the league, getting vital scores. Granted he is not the most mobile but I feel by putting Dan Flynn there, you are robbing Peter to pay Paul. Dan Flynn is our strongest goal threat and a massive outlet to have in full forward line. Based on his performances throughout the league, I think Moolick deserves a starting berth. Think Conway is one of our most underrated players and is probably more suited to our half back line as he's strong in the tackle and extremely mobile. K Cribbin may count himself unfortunate but I think Conway is probably better suited. Keiths pace could be massive to have off the bench. Options like the two Healys, Slattery, Keith and maybe even Bolton for his experience could be huge come championship. Would be worried about midfield if we lost Moolick or more so Feely.

Yea the list of injuries seems crazy. You'd wonder how so many have picked up injuries lately. At least we have a long break at the moment. Fingers crossed they'll all be back for the championship.
