To give the kids who will miss out on minor - didn't make U18 this year and will be overage for U17 next year a go.

Is there any u17 players double jobbing with the minors?? Can't say I'm a fan of the change coming next year..
No problem with u/21 changing to u/20 but u/18 really didn't need to be touched!!

There are a number of them. They did not play last night.

Likes of Kirwan, Nairn were listed as u-17 panellists last night but not part of the 24 for the game. Which makes sense given the rationale for the competition and of course a wee game next Wednesday.

Only 1 under 17 on the Dublin minors starting line-up and he started last night v Meath which I thought was fairly strange.

Only in the GAA would you have two minor grades in same year... Who do we play next in this anyway? Semi-final presumably?

Let's get behind these boys as well... Looking forward to checking them out. DJ Earley only crossover from minor team. If we put in a strong performance in senior final and win this would be a hell of a week in fairness... Anyway, Wexford first.

Makings of a good side there... Nairn in particular a terrific player.

Final score Kildare 6-15 Wexford 1-8. Nerve-shredding 22-point win.

Leinster football is basically dead outside Kildare and Dublin.

Anyway, we really are producing some serious footballers atm.

Forwards and goalkeeper may as well have been on holiday, but powerful midfield duo and some of the forward play was brilliant. Young Kirwan has serious potential in the target man role - strong as a bull and very skilfull as well.

Is there a draw to be made for semi-final.

Right... Be gas if we got the Dubs at home again! The final installment in the trilogy... Tis is a fine side we have anyway, definitely capable of winning it.

Really impressive performance again tonight at "minor" level.

Think this team might be stronger than the minor team from this year.

Particularly impressed with Cian McQuillan and Shane O'Sullivan while Billy Maher, Padi Behan and Darragh Kirwan formed a powerful inside line. We seem to be churning out forwards all of a sudden. I can see O'Sullivan in particular joining the likes of Jimmy Hyland and Jack Robinson on senior duty before too long. Great to see.

The no 10 was Sam McCormack from Clare. A beanpole for this age - is he per chance a son of Paul McCormack who wasn't exactly a midget? Anyone know?
