Round 1 – 7th May
Kildare v Wexford

Round 2 – 23rd May
Carlow v Kildare

Round 3 – 30th May

Round 4 – 27th June
Kildare v Laois

Round 5 – 3rd July
Longford v Kildare

Kilkenny not entering a team (would have thought the group format would be better suited to them as it’d guarantee them more games but the flip side of that is the get more hammerings).

Group 1 is made up of Dublin, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath and Wicklow. Looks like we’re on the easier side of the draw and at least 4 games guaranteed.

1st in group 1 plays 2nd in group 2 in the first semi and vice versa for the other semi. Teams placed 3rd and 4th will playoff against each other in a shield competition.

Semi-finals to be played on the 7th of July and final on the 14th – 3 weeks after the senior final.

Is this an under 17 competition and will the county minor championship be under 17 as well.

Best of luck to them. I think about 10 of the team there started the Manning Cup final v Roscommon 6 months ago. Think the scheduling is a mess, a break for the junior cert even though hardly any players at this grade are doing it and then the leinster semi finals are just 4 days after the last round of games. In some ways they might be better off with a stronger group but they could also have 1st place effectively wrapped up in this group going into the last round of matches wither which would give them a chance to rest players ahead of the semi-finals.

No contest 1-17 to 0-7

Wexford one shot at the posts from play although played with 14 for the second half. Kildare missed a few goal chances including a penalty.

Decent looking team again this year.

Bit hard to judge given they’re a year younger than usual.

Was he a Meath man MoateSports?

I always have the delusion stakes winner as between them and Tyrone. Saw lads on forums last year saying Andy Mcentee would have them challenging Dublin in his first season and, better still, that their minors were not possible but probably All Ireland winners. For the record they didn't win a game.

I don't think that is much of a surprise in Moorefields case, I think they have only won 2 minor championship since 2000, possibly only 2 minor championships ever.   That said I know it was Newbridge up to the late 1980's that competed in the minors.

He was from westmeath had a son playing said meath were way bigger and stronger

Kildare 8 carlow 1 halftime carlow playing 2 to 3 sweepers at times

1-13 to 0-2 sounded awful stuff from Carlow as fone says.
