International Rules 2010

Just wondering with the International Rules matches coming up again this year, who from the Kildare team would have a good chance of making the transition.

In my opinion Kelly, Flynn, O’Neill and JD would all do well in this format. Bolton, Leper and Smith may also be looked at.

Knowing Dermot Earley he'd probably want to tog out for this!

Strange game. Only suits a certain type of player i.e. quick and strong. Very little room for skill as you generally get poleaxed or brian o'driscolled to the ground.

I'd go with Bolton, Kelly, Flynn, Kavanagh and maybe JD as having a chance.

Have to say I'm really gone of this series in recent years.

If please God we win on the 29th and With the club championship being put back how will the players picked get a chance to play. The first test is on the 23rd of October.

True, I can see the squad having a lot of Kerry and Tyrone lads seeing as they've nothing better to be doing this summer...

Not sure about Kerry lads with Tohill in charge, a few maybe on "holidays"

Agree...It's all about the physical side of things.

Oh, I think JD is as strong as there is. I'd have him on it. If Leighton Glynn can play well on it, then JD can do a job! it'd be a shame if he didn't get the recognition!

I'd go for Bolton,Smyth and Flynn,maybe Kavanagh too. Paudi for his strength too.

Doubt f Dermot would make himself available for this series but I think we would get Jimmers, smithy Flynn and I think chalky could be a dark horse for some reason JD never gets picked

very early to be talking about this but definitely a good few contenders, i wouldn't have smithy in it if you watch him on the ball he is a bit slowly getting rid of the ball(point taking) noticed he gets blocks down at least once in nearly every game this year. No doubt he is a serious talent and a real goal getter but i could see him be shallowed up by a few aussies and then temperment comes into it after taking some big hits. We will suely have 4/5 if they are available, is Bolton the only player that represented us last time???

cant really see to many kildare lads involved if we manage to make it to the All Ireland Final as the majority then have at least 2 rounds + of championship to play afertwards!!

I seem to be alone in my views but I wouldn't be too upset if none of the Kildare lads were selected. That game doesn't have the appeal it used to have.

must be something to do with having three letters in your name. Most players would jump at the chance to play for their country, even in a compromise game!!

Where exactly did we say the players are not interested, we as in rgb and myself are not interested.

It seems people calling themselves after a pink spotted buffoon read what they want to read.

I like the idea of the game and I was in Croke Park for one of them around ten years ago and really enjoyed it.

When the Aussies flexed their muscles a few years ago, there was something very cynical and pre-meditated about it. It had a touch of the schoolyard bully about it. They went to get Graham Geraghty and they got him before a ball was even kicked. Yer man nailed Philip Jordan too. It just soured me. I don't mind the odd ruck and I think everyone has got involved in a row in a club game at some stage but that wasn't a fair fight to me.

I think if Flynn was picked he would find out quick enough that he would not get away with the sly dig's he dishes out when playing gaa. I hope i'm wrong but I think he will cost us big time before our year is over ....

You're about two years too late with that comment there town man...you mustn't actually have seen Kildare playing this year.

agree rgb Flynn has protrayed self discipline this year , only last week he did not even flinch when the meath man hit him in the last minute just got on with it

Darryl Flynn has been one of our most consistent performers this year and is improving every game. His discipline had been impeccable.

Town man obviously doesnt go to any games and must not have a tv either.

There's always going to be idiot's like him coming out of the woodwork with statements like that

Ahh jaysus, some people baffle me, probably the one player who in my mind has been 2010 Kildare player of the year and you get the town man's of the world.
