| What are your thoughts on all county minor panellists being told they cannot play in the Senior Championship weekend of 6/7/8 May. Minor football is on 14th /a5th May. | |

| i think this fair enough, only a week before the minor champ, anyway there is higher chance of a minor getting a knock playing senior football so fair is fair. | |

| Very unfair on clubs to be asked to play without any player no mater the age, to some smaller clubs to have a county minor they would deferentially be on their first team panel. Very unfair for young players involved they are the ones going to be put in the difficult position if they choose not to play with their clubs they be accused of being to big for their boots and if they play they run the risk of being dropped for the minor panel | |

| Seems Kildare is worse than any other county when it comes to management dictating to clubs. That's what you get with a semi-pro set-up although none of us will be complaining if it all works out and we are buying clean white jerseys in September!

[b][b]Results have been very poor for a semi-pro set up. Why dont we copy Cork, Kerry or Tyrone. Club football will be destroyed for a generation and the next manager will struggle to get a good standard of player to work with

| Players should be allowed play championship. Clubs have to make do without their county men all year but can put up with it if they will be there for the big matches. If a player cant even play championship with his club then surely he's not a club player any more at all? The difference one county minor can make to a team can be the deciding of a championship. There has to be some compromise from the county or as tpos said club football will be destroyed.

| Yep, they sent an email to Kathleen O'Neill copying all other clubs requesting that their game be refixed, because they had spoken to Brian Murphy and he said he hadn't been contacted by the county board about releasing players and so hadn't planned to.
It should be an interesting county board meeting tomorrow night.

| There is not excuse for adult county players not being released to their clubs more often that a complete joke. but in fairness county minors playing adult champ 2 weeks before thair next round is a big risk to take. To be fair the county board should have fixed these games for last weekend. to be fair the murphy and this management team, they allowed the county players play the league games with their clubs, schools, colleges (not like others), and even held a meeting with all the club minor managers to discuss their plans etc. i do see there point of view on this, there is a much higher chance of an underage player getting injuried playing adult champ and with only 2 weeks before there next game does give them long to recover from any knocks. | |

A big risk for who? The county? And so that should come before a club championship? in fairness, the minors won't be needed by every club but they are for many - you see the profile above here yourself. This is championship, and if a player is good enough to be selected by his club to play in it, if the day has come that a club can be told they are not allowed pick him, the GAA has finally been lost to the people 100%. It has become more elitist in recent years - the acceptance of the fact that the clubs can't have a county man for a league game is proof of this - but if a guy is not allowed to play championship, it's unimaginable. I'm reading what I've written and it's worded terribly but I can't articulate it properly how this would signal the end of what the GAA used to stand for and should still stand for, that this is now about the county team, the few chosen ones, rather than the vast majority, the grassroots, the people without whom the GAA wouldn't exist. I am delighted the clubs are finally standing up. It cannot be allowed to happen.
