Was at the reserve A final and iwas very impressed with the Moorefield seconds.
Eddie Heavey played excellently and it seems strange that he played no part in the seniors.
The goalie had a very good game and big midfielder (cant think of his name; ex Kildare coming back from knee injury)
Corner forward (under 21 last year) scored a few points but missed a lot as well.

Then they brought on a sub at midfield Darren ?? and he won the last 5 or 6 kickouts .

Cannot see Moorefield vanishing anytime soon.

They have a good bit of depth. But it's ironic, considering all their troubles with league fixtures in Div. 2, I think all the football at that higher Div. stood to them.

Glavin was the moorefield player you're thinking of. Yeah he had a good game, didn't win much clean ball but he was always sweeping around and getting on ball to set up attacks.

I wasn't that impressed with Moorefield to be honest, they totally dominated midfield but for the first 40 minutes they didn't pose much scoring threat from play and Leixlip gave away a lot of silly frees.

Eddie is involved with the army so wasnt available for 95% of the year.

Gary lowe was the corner forwards name.

Most of that panel has a county medal - niall whyte, padraig byrne, stephen doyle, ross glavin, gareth duffy, frank hanniffy, eddie heavey.

they also had four players from previous rounds that played in the A team, brian mcgrogan, adam tyrell, niall hurley lynch and lee murphy.

Moorefield and Sarsfields have dominated this championship for the last 5 years, both have been in the final 4 years running with sarsfields winning 3 titles and moorefield 1.

I don't think it's strength in depth that's the problem for them; the problem is really top class scoring forwards, they don't have many. In my book there's about 12 forwards in the club who are decent but precious few who are outstanding.

They brought on some very strong subs I thought. As we were getting weaker with players going off injured they were getting stronger!

Fair play to them though they deserved their win, it was long enough in coming.

You're right, Moorefield subs definitely made a big impact on the game. That Duffy lad kicked a ridiculous point from the left in the 1st half after coming on. The big lad with the extremely dodgy haircut who came on in the middle towards the end really helped them close the game out too.

Saying that, I think Leixlip could have made a few subs earlier. I think McGylnn should have came into the fwds earlier cos we were struggling up front (Jordan the only leixlip man to score a point in the game) and the young lad Kev Keneely (spelling prob way off) looked lively when he came in.

Yeah the 2 Moorefield subs did well, the big lad especially catching everything in the last 10minutes. It was a good game of football with both teams producing good spells of football, thought in the second half the young lads for Moorefield did well Mulhall no 6, Heavey no 11, no 20 that scored the goal and Duffy that came on early on cant understand why he didnt start though. Cant see why some of theres young lads haven't stepped up to the Seniors. Leixlip no 6 13 and 15 looked lively ones for the future also.

No. 6 would be 27/28 so unlikely to make the step up at this stage. All 3 you mentioned would have been with the 1st team at some stage in the last few years. Surprised you mentioned two of Leixlip's corner forwards though considering their only scorer apart from the goal at the end was from wing forward.

None of those moorefield players mentioned apart from a fit Ross Glavin are good enough to step up and have an impact at senior level which is their problem. Loads of players but still don't seem to have a star forward
