| Its hilarious to see how Marty McEvoy was quoted in the local papers as saying how chairman of Kildare CB didnt appeal or interest him. Now that his cushy number in Croker is gone, he's interested all of a sudden. No thanx Marty!!
Ger Donnelly is the man for me.

| I think Marty McEvoy might be the best choice. If he has designs on higher office then being the man who cleaned up the financial mess in Kildare would look very good on his CV. That could be a powerful incentive for him to succeed because if he couldnt do the job in his own county then who would have confidence in him at national level? Hopefully who ever gets the job would be man enough to tell a Dublin club where to go if they come snooping aroung Conleths again before a game. | |

| I can't see Ger Donnelly running against John McMahon, it would be very unusual for a vice chairman to run against the chairman. wouldn't it be a huge feather in Marty's cap if a new sponsor comes on board this week? | |

I would say Donnelly has to run. If it's only McMahon v Marty well then I only see one winner there. For one reason or another McMahon has lost some of the support he would have had from the floor. With Donnelly running it could split everyone and it literally could go anywhere, giving McMahon a shout to stay on for another year winning with votes going all over the shop equally. |

| Lads it fairly obvious why donnelly is running for chairman ........there splitting the vote so as to keep martys votes to a minimum ..........donnelly will withdraw depending on how the votes go after the first count ......he is also running for vice chairman and is been opposed by alan dunney who has no intention of running for this position .........dunney has enough on his plate with coaching officer and he may have a tough job holding onto that position with j mc carthy going against him ......all this is like playing politics.......keeping a strong contender down, especially someone who has been mixing it with royalty over the last few years like marty has ........me feels there has been a pact put in place and a certain ex chairman who still has his hands in alot of pockets is the driving force behind this ......and he is still involved at another level within the county as a chairperson.......(how he got that job is a joke)....... .......there could be sparks flying come sunday evening ......so let the best person win or at least the one who is the most cunning in there canvassing....... all IMO of coarse....... | |

Ur pointing a lot of fingers there.
Wanna man up & put names in with the allegations ?
Do agree that some "Nominees" may not run. History shows most withdraw.

Can you have any sort of discussion without insulting someone who doesn't agree with you? How badly do you actually need this forum for validation?

A lot of people read this forum to keep up to date on what is happening in Kildare football and not to read immature commnents from that individual.

| From this it looks like the current chairman has no hope of getting elected again! | |

I wouldn't be too sure of that topcat. The people who have voted so far on this thread are doing so of their own free will, many have no affiliation to the County Board set up. The people who will attend convention on the other hand will be instructed how to vote by their clubs, despite what they may think themselves. Officers on the board have their own vote and are not instructed by anyone. I'd imagine McMahon will pick up majority if not all of these given that they have soldiered together the last year. It will be a hugely interesting convention. The first in years. |

| delegates are very different and will vote for different reasons than expressed here, the fact that all three going for the chair are well known at county board level makes it interesting. rumor has it that voting will be on PR this weekend so no room for someone pulling out half way through | |

| The way the delegates vote has been changed this year, new regulations from croke park. If you have more than 2 nominations for a position, delegates have to vote 1,2, 3 and 4 in order of your preference, the same as in a national election......the person with the lowest votes is eliminated and there votes distributed out to other candidates in order of preference.......there will be someone there who specialises in counting of votes from local elections who will over see the vote counts this weekend....twill be interesting anyway....... | |

| Just a question in regards to the nominations for various position at county level , are candidates forwarded by their club rep or can any club rep nominate a candidate not necessarily from their own clubs ??? am i getting this right As far as the topic here is concerned chairperson If i had a vote it would be for AN OTHER I would say some opinions in regards to how it could transpire are NOT far of the mark as some of the candidates for this position are apted at the cloak and dagger game | |

| A Candidate can be nominated by any club.
While the Club Sec & so sending in the club's nomination form, I was not nominated by my own club. When CB published the nominations Imy name was there ( for Leinster Convention & Congress) and never discovered who had done it. At that time it did not shown what club nominated any candidate & I dont know if thats still the score.
( In LF the List of Nominees must show the nominating club !!!!!)
