I'm not sure Division 3, but certainly top 2 Divisions have Semi Finals.

On the League rules that issued it said Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 North would be straight finals for the top 2, whereas Divisions 3A, 4 South, 5 North & 5 South would have semi-finals

Confey are the form team of late

Are Confey dark horses for championship?

The championship is open again this year and most teams are capable of winning on their day so they could easily cause an upset against larries.

Confey won't win a championship, when all clubs have county players back Confey will be fodder for the big clubs.

I mean no disrespect to Confey. They are a tasty team alright but can't win it.

rule 6 of the league rules

6. The top two teams in league division 1, 2, 3 & 4 North will contest the league final to decide league winners. The top 4 teams in division 3A, 4 South, 5 North & 5 South will qualify for the semi-final. 1 v 4 & 2 v 3, 1 & 2 at home to decide league winners. Final league positions will be decided by the following criteria:

Rule 6.20 (5) T.O.2012

(i) Where two teams only are involved the outcome of the meeting of the two teams in the previous game in the competition.

(ii) Scoring difference (subtracting total scores against from total scores for) Scoring average (divide total score against into total score for)

(iii) Highest total score for

(iv) A play- off

Exception to (c): (1)In relation to means (ii) and (iii) above if the accumulated scores of a team, so involved, are affected by a disqualification, loss of game on a proven objection, retirement or walk-over, the tie shall be decided by a play-off.

(2) Regulations (i), (ii) and (iii) shall not apply to under 16 or younger age grade competition

Final between Raheens, Round Towers and Kilcock

Relegation is still open. Grange are gone along with one of Suncroft, Clogherinkoe and Caragh. Suncroft must win and hope either of the other two lose to have any chance of staying up. With Grange playing Clogherinkoe, Caragh at home to Robertstown and Suncroft taking on Ballyteague its still wide open. I'd fancy Clogherinkoe to stay up as they've also beaten Suncroft in the corresponding round. Robertstown had a big win this week and Caragh won't relish a local match with a win keeping them up. Suncroft could find the going tough against Ballyteague but its going to be a close call. If they go down it will be strange to see a senior club in Div. 3.

Suncroft were in Div.3 in 2009 while they were a senior club. They have Rainbow and Dowling back now so they will improve, however I can't see them beating Ballyteague and escaping the drop.

Lads that larries result vs confey is staggering. Larries needed to win to make the league final and to ship 6 goals is mad stuff. What kind of team did larries field. I previously said confey would struggle when all teams have county lads back but starting to re think that now. Could they be the real deal?
