Just came across this - might be of interest to a few. Some footage from the 1927 final against Kerry. One thing I noticed though, other than Tomás O'Connor would have done huge damage, the socks weren't white. So what so what colour were they, when did they become white and was the all white thing a myth in our greatest days so?

Thought that JW, but they all look the same shade of dark. Could be right though, curious if any great historians here might fill us in.

I don't know about this footage as its hard to see but it was the norm for intercounty teams to wear their club socks way back when. Pity they got rid of it really.
