| Young Courtney, Daniel ?, from kilcock has impressed the few times I've seen him during the league at centre back.
Not really BFB as it's there in the coming weeks we'll get to see what's out there.

| Some former panelists who could potentially be considered again if they're available: Eoghan O'Flaherty, Sean Hurley, Podge Fogarty, Ryan Houlihan, Adam Tyrrell, Mark Sherry, Luke Flynn. Also worth bearing this in mind for the younger players: - Quote :
- The U20 competition will take place between June and August, with no replays. Drawn games will be decided by extra-time, and, in the event of that not providing a winner, by "the outcome of a sudden-death free-taking competition, the details of which shall be determined by the Central Council."
Any player on a team list submitted to an inter-county referee for a senior inter-county championship match in that season will not be eligible to compete in the U20 competition.

| this forum has been decent all year . can we stop talking rubbish about new players for next year before the club championship has even taken place. KK , all of the above bar sherry are failed intercounty players . o flaherty did his stint , the rest would nt add 1 % to the existing team. I doubt you attend many club games if want the above included , we are trying to move forward not go back. improve what we have would be the aim , not talk shite about lads that are just not good enough , or wont commit. | |

| With respect Sarsno, you yourself are talking rubbish. The majority of the above are from last year's minor team, the best one since 2010.
Personally would have Fogarty and Hurley back in squad in heartbeat, Flynn, Sherry, Houlihan all worth another look.
Btw, re club championship and Sarsfields, I think your boys are an excellent bet to choke in Leinster yet again this year.

I attend plenty of club games. Where did I say I wanted all of the players I listed included? "Potentially be considered again" is what I posted. Do you not think someone like O'Flaherty who isn't even 30 until next year would have been a useful addition off the bench against Armagh when the game was there to be won? You need balance in a panel. A lot of the younger players mentioned from the recent minor teams have played very little senior club football. If we started writing off everyone over the age of 24 as intercounty failures would Slattery and McNally have featured as prominently this year?

| Thought our 2015 minor team was our best since 2010 and some of them looked as if they could make it at senior. The reality is that we need new players to come in particularly in defense If we are to progress. No one is asking for players to be catapulted straight into the team. Of the names mentioned above Sherry and Flynn looked as if they could be really good. If they can't commit then so be it. But if anyone thinks next year with the same players is going to be any better is seriously deluded. | |

Did the majority of the above lads mentioned play minor last year ? With regard to the club championship , i think its more open this year .

| First I think we have to ask is what type of player is the team lacking. Is it a more skilful player we need or is it a few dogs ? For me if a guy is willing to commit to the life of an inter county player and I know its not for everyone which is totally understandable. But if someone is willing i think we need lads that are agressive bastards, lads that would knock down their mother to win the ball. All the other things we can give him , you can get him fitter, you can get him stronger, you can even improve his skill set if he's willing to work hard. But I think the things that we are lacking comes from within. To be honest and maybe I'm wrong so tell me if I am but adding Sean Hurley or Adam Tyrrell to the panel isn't going to give us what we are lacking. I think we have to change the way we look at what makes a good player. Just a thought. | |

| Flats is always would keeping the door open for, even if he added an experienced head off the bench and free-taking at certain stages. Others are young lads who are on the brink. Those who were in and let go have a chance to show again for the clubs.
That is th key here in my mind. Too mant lads got the automatic call-up without really standing out for clubs. If you go to club games elsewhere you see the county men stand out, but it is not always the case here. The lads need to really put their hands up over the next few weeks and then push on from there. Slattery and McNally coming in this year shows that lads will be given a shout.
Could we use this thread similarly to the Player Watch one I had last year?

I think there are no doubts that Sean Hurley will be with Kildare panel next year barring injury. Cian O'Neill seemed to suggest as much earlier this year

Ben's end product was very poor but having said that I thought he beat Ollie Lyons to pretty much every ball and on another day it could have been a big problem for Celbridge
