| An absolutely shite draw. 4 away, including Donegal, Meath and Cork which will probably be the toughest games to get a win. Hard to see how it could’ve been worse, to be honest. | |

| Think we've had 4 home games for the last 2 years I think, so can't really complain.
Having said that, Meath away again is a bit of a joke (pain in the arse going to that kip in recent years)

| Playing on Saturday 16th March is a strange one, what time, do they know that we don't have floodlights. ???
Probably because of St. Patricks Day parade on the Sunday ???

Probably because of St. Patricks Day parade on the Sunday ??? They have it down (very provisionally) for 2 o'clock on the Saturday. There is a full round of games that day. I guess the club finals will be on the Sunday. Strange one alright but I guess they are stuck for weekends with the league having to be wrapped up before April.

| No need to be too pessimistic there lads, the first 4 games are very winnable. We have a very good record against Meath in Navan, must be all the practice we get at that venue! We should be in a good position before the Donegal game I feel. There are no teams apart from Donegal who are any where near the level of the quality we faced in Div 1 earlier this year. I think we progressed this year and will get promoted. | |

Strange one alright but I guess they are stuck for weekends with the league having to be wrapped up before April. 2.00 p.m. in Newbridge on a Saturday of a long weekend will be chaos.

| Promotion will need a minimum of 10 points.
The middle 4 games (Fermanagh/Meath/Clare/Tipp) are the obvious targets for 8 of those points.
Armagh at home to set the stall out and then that leaves Cork and Donegal away as the two most difficult.
Would be great to get straight back to Div 1

| I would imagine that Saturday v Tipp is very provisional in case a club from one of those counties makes the club finals?? | |

| Meath away.... again. The lord God, does no one in Head office look at previous pairings. Even Donegal away is ridiculous as we played up there last year. How the hell do they come up with these ties.
In saying that they are all winnable. If they keep the level of effort and and throw in a dolop of cynacism picked up in the last year they should be getting promoted. I think the key game is Cork looking at the order in how the fall.

| Just to say re Jack Robinson - he has been sensational in club championship & scored 1-10 or something from play the other night. It's a good job ye have looks lads!
Incidentally, Cian O'Neill wants to do another year. I honesty don't know why I pay attention to half the rumours on here - the last thing I read was that he was joining Munster rugby!!
Anyway... My honest assessment: When you add in the influx of U20s to our team, ourselves and Donegal are miles ahead of everyone in this division. If we play to our potential, we should incinerate everyone.
Unfortunately, that's all on paper. The history of Kildare football is not playing to our potential. In fact we'll probably end up in Div 3, then beat Dubs in championship before getting knocked out by Roscommon or someone.
That would be the usual Kildare approach... Never a dull moment I suppose.

| Any indication of whether Jack Robinson will be available next year? Seán Hurley looked in pretty good shape for JTB the other day too | |

| Jesus when you look at those fixtures Div 2 is fairly tasty... I really hope we build and go up. Coming off a decent league, having brought in one or two U20s plus giving Murray a full year in the panel will do no harm. | |
