| It's a tactic to give them less opportunities for developing new talent. In reality they're probably away visiting places of historical interest and exploring new partnerships opportunities | |

| At the very worst, it gives us a chance to have a run out against a couple of decent teams before the league - and to bury the Carlow ghost - hopefully | |

| Anybody any thoughts on the match tomorrow? Is anyone even going to it?
Last year when we didn't win a game most said it didn't matter as it was only the O'Byrne cup but then when we lost all our games in the league it did matter!!!
Be good to see some of the new lads get a run and how they get on and I am very interested to see who plays mid-field. Is Moolick about?

| Team announced, great to see so many young players given a start. Great to see Dempsey and Barrett in the full back. Really not sure why Fionn Dowling is being persisted with, surely we know what he can offer at this stage. | |

| I see Meath GAA on Twitter promoting live streaming of their game with Laois today. €5 which is very good value on a day where you wouldn't put the cat outside.
No such forward thinking in Kildare, though.

No such forward thinking in Kildare, though. 0-16 to 1.6 Live streaming of nothing as it turned out. Was in Newbridge - really good first half and some great performances from the Cribbins. Atrocious day and a long hold up (ten minutes) while the Carlow No 4 was stretchered off, hopefully not as bad as it looked - totally accidental clash. Never looked like losing. Nice to lay the Carlow ghost of Summer past!

| Yes, early days but there is definitely something there to work with. Good stuff in the first half, moved the ball well, good runners, positive passes and some excellent points in the conditions. 2nd half we dropped off a bit which is maybe expected as we introduced a lot of new players and the rhythm was gone. Defensively I thought we looked good. Work rate was high and we didn't get ran through. Lads held up the runners or turned them around.
Thw new rules are tough to judge in that weather but they certainly didn't harm us, in fact it probably suited us. Some nice performances there today, Barret was good at full back, Conor Hartley did some great work, Ben McCormack showed he can have a big say and Jimmy Hyland could prosper with the attacking mark as his quick movement gets him in space.
Good start by all. | |

No such forward thinking in Kildare, though. Good point Taibi..........what exactly does the Dundara TV partnership do for Kildare?

| Agree with your post Rex. Thought Barret had a really good game at full back, maybe he is the man to free up D Hyland to move further out the field. Jimmy played really well and kicked some lovely scores. Second half was a no show with the team just happy to see out their win.
