Junior Quarter finals fixed for the weekend 16th of September. 3 week break now again. Anyone think that's needless? For the second time in a row a massive break in between games. 4 weeks between last group and semi finals for Milltown and Robertstown.
Two week break , fixed for Saturday 9th in athy Double header

Looking forward to Naas v Sash tonight, expecting a cracker of a game. Be interesting to see if Kirwan, Dermot Hanafin and Tom Browne are back for Naas. Expecting a big reaction from Sarsfields after last weeks poor performance!

Towers vs Rathangan was certainly a game between 2 teams lacking in confidence.
Towers last score was in the 12th minute of the second half, from David Kelly, who was the standout player on the pitch.
The shooting from both sides was erratic, a lot of wides and balls into the goalies hands.
The crowd was dead as well, nothing to shout for.
Not a classic for sure.

Hard to see Naas being stopped. Dominant 2nd half performance tonight, Sarsfields couldn’t keep it going.

Draw for junior championship.
Milltown and Robertstown straight into semi final.
Quarter final- Grange vs kill. Winner plays Milltown in semi final. Quarter final- Rathcoffey vs Athgarvan. Winner plays Robertstown in semi final.
Imagine the winner of Milltown vs Grange/Kill will be hot favourites.

Callaghan quiet, Browne out, Kirwan unused, Hanafin played last 5. Sash didn’t even get them off the bridle

Mark Maguire had a good game at corner back for Naas. Ominous for the rest that Naas can afford to win comfortably despite having one of the best forwards in the county in reserve. Larries V Confey will be an interesting game, Confey always seem to just about stay up every year. You’d imagine Larries will have enough and it will be between Confey & Ballyteague to stay up.

Nothing happened them they just lost 2 games by 1 point. Intermediate is ruthless any of 10 teams could have won it. In the 2 winners groups the 4 first round games were won by 1 point. impossible to call it

Was in Hawkfield today. Clane v Clogherinkoe very good game, for 2nd week in row Cloghs put it up to the so called top teams! Larries v Confey was a awful watch & not sure how Larries didn't win it. Fair play to confey for great comeback. Celbridge v Carbury, it seemed like Carbury were playing to keep score down & had no interest in winning it. Killian Browne was excellent.

Hawkfield again today.. JTB v Kilcock: Slow paced game & JTB just done enough. Some excellent free taking on both sides. Dan Flynn not there.
Moorefield v Ballytegue: Moorefield are getting worse every week no game plan, if BT had Jimmy they would have won the game.
Athy v Maynooth: Well deserved win for Maynooth, throws group wide open going into last round. Sash in big big trouble now.

Monasterevin scraped out a win v Kilcullen in an excellent venue for a match in Sarsfields..it's shocking at €11 entry ticket, that both Clubs had to supply umpires and linesmen.. but no problem for the county board to have an official checking tickets etc at the gate.

Raheens eadestown good close game. Score does not do eadestown justice. Raheens maybe a bit better or draw more reflective. Hope Eadestown stay senior. Don't know how they do it

In group B, if Naas beat Athy and Sarsfields beat Maynooth in the last games then Athy , Maynooth and Sarsfields all end up with 2 points with all 3 teams filling the bottom 3 positions. How is it decided who finishes last ? Is it scoring difference ?

Attended Leixlip vs Castledermot in Raheens. Credit to the club for the excellent playing surface. Castledermot were superior in the first half (supported by a slight wind), soaking up Leixlip attacks and countering effectively. They didn't kick on with this advantage, however, and paid the price as Leixlip improved in the second half to tie things up late on. My main takeaway from the clash between two of the favourites being that Intermediate is wide open once again.
As an aside, there were three cynical, intentional fouls shared between the teams that appeared to be black card offences to me which were instead awarded as yellows. Consistency on the black card sorely lacking at club level.

my guess here is that you like so many don`t know the black card rules. cynical fouls are not black cards

You'd be wide of the mark with that guess. They were a combination of deliberate trips and pulldowns, cynical in nature.

You don't really have a clue what warrants a black card do you. donnellyshollow is spot on. A cynical foul is a black card as stated below from the GAA rule book
Category II Infractions – Cynical Behaviour 5.10 To deliberately pull down an opponent. 5.11 To deliberately trip an opponent with hand(s), arm, leg or foot. 5.12 To deliberately collide with an opponent after he has played the ball away or for the purpose of taking him out of the movement of play. 5.13 To remonstrate in an aggressive manner with a Match Official.. PENALTY FOR THE ABOVE FOULS - (i) Order the offender off by showing him a Black Card.

If two teams finish level on points is it decided by head to head? I know it is more complicated with three teams level on the same points.
