| completely agree with your last comments there usualshite. the problem with kildare football is the same as always, it is who you know, who you are, and not about how good a football you are. i heard of a few girls who got a 'call up' to the county team and frankly i wouldnt rate them at all....ive played against much better and the only reason these girls are getting the call is for namsake...and nothing to do with football.
the management should bow out....staying for a 3rd year is an absolute disgrace!

Put forward the names so they get their chance. Posting names in a forum so they get called up to a county squad, pretty much sums up the state of ladies football in Kildare. If this management team were doing their job properly they shouldnt and wouldnt be asking clubs to nominate players to make the panel. Is it any wonder they were emabarrassed so many times during the year. I happened to speak with a countyboard 'official' over the weekend and her take on the matter was that they were stuck with the current setup because of the "gobshites" that put them in the job in the first place. (Her words not mine) Begs the question though................who's running matters in the county? The board or the senior management?

I was very careful not to propose or suggest to you that any names be posted.
The challenge was to "Put forward" the names of the better players you suggest. Your club sec can put them forward.
I am not surprised that your reaction was to ignore the challenge and of course the other person just took the opportunity to spout her usual ......................
It’s comforting that the Management have looked at every Adult Club team and many under age games during the year. They were at loads of championship games including most semi finals, all finals and the Leinster Club games and have targeted a lot of players who will be invited to the meeting and training during Oct, Nov & Dec. Not regarding themselves as infallible they offered the clubs the opportunity to put forward names and is that not only being fair to the clubs.

| well i totally disagree with you there liitle sam the best players in the county are in the squad the only players that are good enough that aint in the squad are travelling or can`t committ. no matter how good the management is this county team will never get anywhere unless all the players committ to a monumental effort and give it everything for the year they will go nowhere, and if they do that then we can start looking at management but untill that day comes alot of footballers in this county need to take a long hard look at themselves esp you usualshit heres a question for you why do you bother playing and training for the management team in place when you think they are useless?? | |

| Centreback, unless youy have suffered the horror of a training session with these fools, don't come here preaching about how its lack of commitment on players behalfs. All the best players are not on this panel, and twhile some of them are genuinely out of the country. Theres a larger majority who are not prepared to suffer fools anymore. You will notice a few more names missing this year, same reason! I saw an interview with Daragh O'Shea a few months ago where he discussed county training, facilities and treatment of players in general. He was at apain to point out how the bar has raised in terms of trainer's over the last few years. And how guys can't get away with bluffing anymore. That drills, tactics and game plays need to be sharp and modern, otherwise they'll lose the players.
Centreback and KELF, you guys ned to realise the kind of guys we have running the senior team. 1 is a guy who transferred in 6+ intercounty players from around Ireland to win a junior All-Ireland with Eadestown. He believes screaming insults at HIS OWN players, opposing players and officials is the way to go. Another is a referee who knows little or nothing about our game or tactics. The other guy hasn't got the slightest idea about anything, infact he talks about the exact opposite to what the first guy says. Put all the pieces together and you might get a picture of why players will not tolerate these anymore.

| ye seem to be afraid to mention players, i`m not this is the best team in the county from what i`ve seen now all these players were available or werent because of genuine reasons, and i think and hope kate is returning this year. goalkeeper is a tricky one, dolan wont commit so il give you her as 1 of the best player not in the panel so il try something out here as this girl is tall, mobile, good hands and a great kick
1 louise keatley 2 ash lamb/trish delahunt 3 kate leahy 4 donna berry 5 ciara hogan 6 maria moolick 7 ash holton 8 brianne leahy 9 joanna timmons 10 noelle earley 11 aine gately 12 stacey cannon 13 catherine o`malley 14 ash jennings 15 gillian behan
now you can pick away at that but i seen alot of teams playing this year and i still believe these are the best players in the county

| Centreback not far off I agree. Heard Stacy Gill are back from year out in Oz an toggin but Jennings still on her travels. Dolan had her chances with team over few years dropping clangers in lots of big games believe she doesnt wanna play if not a starter so much for competition in a panel so Kelly right to leave her out. Think they have tried handful of goalies or more over two years probably weakest position in county over the years. | |

| Dolan didnt leave panel because she wasn playin, so can we please have correct facts, and not just people makin thgs up. Yeah she made some mistakes in her time, and she can not take them bak. Goals have always caused Kildare a problem, lets be honest. Really good keepers are hard to find | |

A thankless position, especially in ladies football, where the dimensions of the goals are not relative to the heights of the players - they're obviously established for men's football and so, the high ball under the crossbar is a massive problem. Natural goalies need to be coached from underage.. It's rare that you make them. It didn't work out for Catriona but she wasn't the first. A great player out the field for Maynooth and Carbury though
