| Not a chance will there be four league games played in Newbridge.
Surely a Kildare - Donegal and Dublin - Mayo? double header will be the opening to the league, big crowd in Croke Park on a Saturday night for those two games.
Can't imagine we'll play Dublin at home either, surely that'd be a double header with their hurlers, again get a bigger crowd than what Newbridge could hold.
How much power do people reckon the county board will have in deciding the venues for these? Hands slightly tied considering our financial position?

May as well play those two back to back on the same day in Breffni, save a bit on petrol at least. Tom Cross may have his work cut out next year...

| Lads I am sure , if Croke Park assign the Donegal V Kildare / Dublin v Kildare games at this neutral venue, the Kildare county board must have the right to claim a major share in gates receipts , after all these have to be recognised as home fixtures , ok not in your eyes (home games) as your travelling for 5 games , but there is a case !! | |

The county board could well receive more money from playing them in Croke Park. Whether or not they have a say in playing them in Croke Park is a different matter. We'd be in a much stronger position to refuse the games being moved if we were devoid from controversy or criticism (rightly or wrongly) this year

| I have said in another thread , that the barriers on the terrace running the length of the pitch, have to be replaced as they don't meet the safety requirements , this could also scupper any large match attendances next year , with all the other issues identified in the past , just another stick to tap the county grounds with | |

| I personally hope we keep all our home games in Newbridge although I'd say there is no doubt we are being lined up for a double header with Dublin-Mayo on opening weekend. Arguably our 3 toughest matches first so we need to get off to a good start to take anything from them games | |

| Over winter must look into exactly what the precautions are because I have said before the facilities and dressing rooms are crap, but in fairness, there is zero risk of injury in that place. | |

| I thought the league fixtures did not have to conform to the same level of health and safety regulations as the championship. We really need to keep at least three of the four in newbridge, it will also help the local economy. Kildare people spending their money in portlaoise or navan is just wrong on many levels. Donegal in newbridge should go ahead, they won't bring huge numbers as the band wagon will be parked up until their Tyrone game in the summer. Kerry should also be in newbridge because if they bring more than a people carrier full then I'd amazed. We gave away a home advantage game against Tyrone last year so they need to come to town. Dublin are they only ones I'd expect to be moved.
To balance it out let's play an away match as part of a croke park double header. Down would do to save a journey. To be honest I'm surprised we got four games at home. The CB know these games could be huge money spinners, now is the time to make sure they are held in the county.

| Well said Baba, its time that the CB stood up for the supporters and players. If we have to give up home advantage against Dublin then maybe we should insist on that game in Portlaoise. That crowd get enough home games in the summer and so wouldnt kill them to travel down the M7 in spring. We will need everything in our favour if we are to avoid a quick return to div 2. | |

| The games look appealing. How on earth did the Geezer make the point that promotion from Division 2 was not that important ? No matter where you look there will be no hiding place for Kildare senior footballers next year. It will all be very interesting. | |

| Where are these fixtures, I have looked at GAA.ie plus official Kildare web page and no mention of any fixtures, the only place that seems to have it are KFM, it would not be the first time Clem Ryan jumped the gun and got it wrong. | |

| If Kildare are forced to play any league games away from home this year I believe the chairman and the top table needs to offer their resignation as they will have failed Kildare GAA.
They have known about being promoted to division 1 and the potential for increased crowds since last May. That has given them 8/9 months to rectify any problems with Conleths park there may be.
It's going to be hard enough to retain division 1 status without having to play our "home" games in another county.
When is the last time we welcomed Kerry and Dublin to Newbridge in the same year? It would be a huge boost for Newbridge and the business there to be able to host big games like this.
