| The same three people nominated for chairman as last year, the only other potential contests are vice chair, treasurer and central council if everyone runs. Thankless jobs in many ways I know but you would think more might be willing to run for positions. | |

| Contest for Vice Chair ??? not likely, GD running for Chair for same reason as last year purely to block MMcE, meaning JMcM will retain his position as Chair and AD will step down as Vice Chair candidate....
This is MW last year as treasurer so i think his opposition will also drop out...

| I hear canvassing is in full swing for top positions in the CB.......our chairman has been contacted already looking for our vote at Saturday weeks convention. We are having a special meeting next week to discuss who we are going to vote for.....or will there be a vote at all for these positions come convention day...... | |

| Hey ballyboy read my post again, i didn't say GD would block MMcE from being nominated !!!!!! GD will block him by taking votes from him, GD still has his Vice Chair as a safety net, that is if there will be a vote at all.....
My prediction would be MMcE will withdraw, GD will follow suit, JMcM re elected, AD then withdraws as Vice, GD re elected. one thing i find strange is why does MMcE not look to run as Vice, serve his term like everyone has done and then step into Chair, shortcut ?????
I agree with you regarding nominations being thin on the ground, very hard for a lot of delegates to break into the "circle",

Its even harder to break in when their own clubs don't nominate them for the jobs !!!
and as Ogie said nominees not standing on the day is worse.
One point of course is A person may have been nominated without their knowledge or consent
Happened to me long years back ( for a minor job Delegate to Congress).
Of course a top table proposal that the previous years delegates be returned en bloc ( some previous 40 years without making any impression) sorted out the upstarts

| Marty McEvoy withdrew today, while I had already heard that Ger Donnelly has withdrawn. So no change at the top table at all.
There are a few good motions in particularly from Kildangan and Ardclough in relation to transfers. If either were accepted it would give the CCC clear direction in how to grant or refuse a transfer and everyone knows beforehand what the criteria are. Anything would be better than the current completely ad hoc situation.
I also note that despite the county board getting their knuckles rapped by the DRA for not having any transfer bye-law, they didn't bother to propose one, so just as well that Kildangan and Ardclough were paying attention.

| So after a year of one embarrassing incident after another. The disgusting treatment of the former manager, the executive voting against each other, the total abdication of fundraising where the master plan was a bucket collection. Not one vote it seems was taken tonight. Not one of the top table hand the honour to resign or even apologise for it all.
Nothing will change. We will continue to fall behind financially and in the development of the games in the County. Those in charge are not going to suddenly do something they have not done in the previous three or four years. I despair and feel the future of Kildare GAA is on the precipice of disaster.

| All motions regarding transfers were passed, finances while still precarious are headed in the right direction, 177 k in the black for the year. Amazingly of the 110 delegates there none had the negative attitude of a few of the above posters, it appears that those who engaged in the democratic process have every faith in their ability to choose the right people to run Kildare football but then it was the 126th time they have done that. 127 years and counting Cill Dara Abu
PS
Best of luck to the House today as they represent our county in a Lenister final

| 85 years and counting, hundreds of thousands in debt, a crumbling antiquated county ground. They are the only statistics you need. If none of the 110 delegates can't see we are in trouble now they never will. It's no wonder we are in the mess we are with that attitude.

| Approx 1.8 million in debt, a lot this is related to the mortgage taken out to develop Hawkfield, a facility which was badly needed by the many players who don the county jersey, the balance is mostly caused by a loss of income. To address the issues with the county grounds would require even more debt, do you actually advocate more debt ??
If you do how do you propose this be funded ?? (Try and refrain from the default answer please)

| A bucket collection.... Hold on that has been done already. Say what you like but you can't defend the indefensible. Kildare GAA is being managed into the ground and no one seems to have the balls to tell it like it is.
As I mentioned not one vote took place after a year of embarrassing incidents. Hell even up to this week we were the papers as the laughing stock of the GAA world. If some of them had the honour to resign then new blood could be given a go. But no. They all stay quiet and keep the wagons circled.
I guarantee we will be back here next year moaning about the same things. 86 years and counting

At least he can string a coherent sentence together. I see the CB fanboys are out in force with the County Convention. Like clockwork. They were strangely absent when they decided to show McGeeney the door. Weird that.

You're just not worth the time because you can't see the truth or if you do you won't admit it. Oh and as taibi says a coherent sentence would be a good start.
