| At the Bord na nOg AGM in early Dec it was said that we've a brand new Kildare gaa website and it was going to be up and running by the middle of Dec. The outgoing county board chairman came in towards the end of the meeting and informed everyone there. We're 6 weeks down the line and no sign. Has anyone any idea when it up. Competitions are due to start in the next few weeks and it'd be nice to actually see when their on | |

| Why do we even need a new website?
Apart from club results, they can't be arsed updating the existing one, so I don't see the point in a new one.
It's a job for the county secretary, who is paid.

| Lads, has anyone any idea when the new website will be up and running. Also who is in charge of updating the current one. Not one mention, article or interview about our Minor team winning another Leinster title and no comments of the senior team result at the weekend....... if it was any other county website they would have the successful team splashed all over the place. Truly shocking IMO...

| Another promise that was put forward at the convention to get elected but won't be carried through.

| Totally agree. The website has been so bad for so long now. Lost count of the amount of times a new one has been promised now at this stage.
(Not to stray from the topic but the fact that nobody from the county board turned up at the homecoming for the minors in Naas the other night is also shocking).

| Is there a particular need for a new website? A new website will be as pointless as the current one if nobody updates it. One would think they'd get that sorted first but no doubt some IT subbie will profit handsomely from designing a new website. | |

| Well would you believe it.......just by coincidence after some comments on here about the official website and the lack exposure of seniors and minors on the website it suddenly appeared late last night......looks like some county board officials are keeping an eye on our forum.... | |

Any truth that there was a lot of discontent with this 'unofficial homecoming' that apparently only Naas Gaa knew about. It was discussed on KFM Monday morning I believe, how KFM would have been happy to attend and publicise a homecoming and made enquiries about what was planned but couldn't get an answer from anyone about what was happening. Naas GAA put on a good spread for them but you'd imagine the co board would have organised something for the homecoming or at least promoted the one in Naas so people could be there to cheer them home.

| I agree that the county board slipped up big time with this however if Naas took this on their own initiative to arrange I feel that this is been very disrespectful to the other clubs in Kildare. | |

I don't know how it came to be in Naas GAA but the general feeling at it was that there was discontent with the co board as none of them attended and there was nothing else organised. It seemed to be more of a case that it was a good job at least Naas GAA agreed to put something on for them. Of course I'm sure other clubs would have happily offered to do the same if they had been asked. You'd imagine with Kildare GAA's partnership with The Osprey now that something official could have been organised there.

| Not to sound mean-spirited and aside from the point, but let's save homecomings until we are out, having maximised what these lads can achieve. Not like 1998 seniors. We won this last year, and two years before that, let's set sights higher whereas a homecoming suggests job done. | |

| Don't think there's any great conspiracy here, the minors get picked up at Naas on match days and the bus returns there. Agree with TK, publicising these things sent out the wrong message | |

| Nothing to see here, move on, they use Naas as a meeting point and the club threw on a bit of grub after the match for the team. Fair dues to whoever for not making a circus out of it!!!!

This was previously described in a post as ' a homecoming' so its begs the question was there a 'a bit of grub' put on for the players/mentors only, if so fair enough, or was it a 'homecoming celebration', unilaterally organise by Naas Gaa club, and were other clubs in Kildare made aware of this, sorry to say but there is a huge difference.

| The lads went back to Naas Gaa where they were congratulated and given a bit of a feed, as far as I know the lads went into Sallins that night for celebrations | |
