He almost took flight he was running that fast with both his arms outstretched. You'll no doubt see the idiot refereeing All-Ireland QFs and SFs later on in the year. There's no consequences for these decisions so I'm sure Joe won't lose too much sleep.

Great win for Longford up in Clones. Football in Leinster gets a hard time which is unwarranted. Kildare beat Cork last year, Down the year before (easily), Laois beat Armagh (twice), Mayo struggled badly against a limited Fermanagh. It's pretty much on a par with every other province once you take out Kerry, Tyrone and Dublin.

Colm O'Rourke before the senior Leinster Final today on RTE - 'The GAA must say thank God for Dublin. If any other county dominated football as much as Dublin do, there'd be about 300 people at the Leinster final'.

Oh right - then lets make sure Dublin is kept as strong as possible. Fat chance of another county in Leinster dominating football in the province as much as Dublin have in the last 10-12 years.

Meanwhile, there is probably the smallest crowd in many years for a Leinster football final - soon it'll be as small as the hurling final.

Really strange comment coming from a Meath man

ORourke talking shite. The reason so few at Leinster final is because of Dublins dominance. Many Dubs cant be arsed with watching a cakewalk again and Westmeath folk knew they didnt have a chance. ORourke talking shite, the big Meath prick. I think there was 55000 at Laois v Westmeath drawn Leinster final in 2004 . Neither of those two counties be known for a big support either.

In fairness, I'd say they are - they've pumped far too much money into the football structures and evelopment iin Tipp to be not bothered I'd say

Simple solution would be to give the four beaten provincial finalists home advantage in R4.

Completely or toss a coin like previous round. Hate neutral games, even Leinster semi-finals and Croker All Ireland quarters!

Nice to see the GAA becoming the official propaganda arm of Dublin GAA as well as its chief financier and cheerleader. http://www.gaa.ie/football/news/dublin-dominance-should-lauded-not-lamented/

We must all genuflect at the altar of Dublin football.

Someone compared the money going into Dublin football as akin to 'financial doping'

Great to see Croke Park giving Jim Gavin another platform for his hypocrisy, as if he needed it given the easy ride they always get from the national media. I don't like the man since his butter wouldn't melt attitude about how his players were as pure as the driven snow in 2013, and then they turned around and closed out the final that year as cynically as any other team would have. Had an Ulster team done the same, they'd have been torn to shreds but the aneamic journalism standards allow Dublin and Kerry to get away with murder based solely on an undeserved reputation.

Dublin tabloid journalist who's probably scared of not getting invited to those riveting early morning press conferences with Jim Gavin full of fascinating soundbytes. Funnily enough I don't recall any Dublin journalists writing anything similar about Kilkenny hurlers when they have been dominent in Leinster.

Jim Gavin is as interesting as a shoelace, Cluxton as well.

Was listening to Connolly being interviewed on Game On on Tuesday evening and he comes across as your typical meat head Dub. He was asked would he react differently to the hair ruffle against Westmeath and he said no.

They're a hell of a team but hugely unlikable.

The president of the GAA (won't even attempt to spell his name) was also interviewed and basically balked at the idea of Dublin having an unfair advantage, he was more interested in talking about tweaking the qualifier system. Talk about burying your head in the stand.

do we not realise that it's really for our own good that Dublin were looked upon as a special case back in the early noughties? You couldn't be having a situation where different counties were winning Leinster every year off the back of their own hard work and Dublin not even making finals.Don't forget Dublins dominance is solely down to hard work on the ground and lazy rurals not upping their game.

With the population trends and capabilities in Kildare and great potential players coming from our underage setups and investment although not as much as Dublin we should be more worried about Kildare rather than looking over the fence at Dublin.

Kildare (and the likes of Meath) have been left miles behind not because of Dublin but because of Kildare GAA - we need to get our own house sorted to me if the right choices etc. were made in recent years in Kildare we would be easily at least be consistently in the top 6 in Ireland and challenging on all fronts.

Agree Micky, yes we need to get our own house sorted and I believe we are well on the way to doing that. But it still will barely diminish the gap that the GAA have forcefully created.

Financial doping is exactly what it is. When before Dublin won in 2011 you hear the GAA president saying the GAA needed Dublin to win an All Ireland you know any level playing field is well and truly gone. Nothing has changed since then or will in the future.

Leinster has been thrown in the skip for the sake of Dublin. I doubt it will ever get back to what it was. It's burning and the GAA are playing their fiddle.

That's where our delegates at national level need to bang the Kildare drum rather than rolling over to the GAA's tune which they are doing for many reasons.....

Look, how many times have Kildare conceded home advantage or agreed to play a supporting role in Croke Park double headers. We certainly didn't stand up and be counted then, we just rolled over.

Nothing has changed, look at how the U21 championship was ran this year. It was a Wednesday night competition for everyone bar Dublin. They had their semi with Meath moved to a Saturday afternoon as was the final moved. All for bullshit reasons.

The GAA suit themselves to keep Dublin successful at the detriment of other Leinster Counties, no behind the scenes lobbying is going to change that.

It's also sickening when you hear other supporters from other provinces running down the likes of us or Meath as if we can match Dublin. I'd love to see how they would fair if the GAA decided that Tyrone or Galway needed to be winning, so pump millions into those Counties development, let them play all games at home and have the sports council throw in a few more million for good measure. I bet their attendances drop significantly as well as they lose interest.

If you tried to explain it all to an outsider they would laugh at you and tell you why bother as it's inherently unfair.
