How many are inter-county standard and have scored 2 points in an All-Ireland Final, Varley is more than decent? There is serious issues in the Dublin club scene that the GAA happily ignore yet when Seanie Johnson transferred to Kildare they did their best to circumvent it, it's the hypocrisy that galls me.

| I presume Enda is living and working in Dublin. A lot of Kildare clubs have players from other counties who live here playing for them | |

| That's fine tpos but amazingly almost all intercounty players who go there never play for the club nearest them and sometimes even a club near them. All hoovered up by the same few sides who, ahem, don't offer anything in return. Everyone knows there's a transfer market in the Dublin club scene. Everybody. | |

| Maybe some of our own inter county players could take a leaf out of Diarmuid Connolly's book by actually showing a bit of devotion to their clubs. Connolly was playing challenge matches for his club this year while some of our own were pissing off on holiday when their club were preparing for a SFC semi-final.
As for Vincent's, the jobs are in Dublin, there's not much the GAA can do about that. The days of lads getting into their cars and driving 100 miles to train with their clubs are long gone. We saw it in this county this year, particularly with our county minors, the club doesn't mean much to a lot of these "stars" anymore.
Sarsfields' pitiful attempt in Leinster is not Dublin's fault.

| No not Dublin's fault but many of their own clubs are as angry about it as the rest so it's not like people looking in telling them what to do or how to act. Superclub culture has ruined their championship too. County Board there really need to get head around fair distribution of those who move rather than the same few clubs throwing out bonuses for anyone who shows up on the market. | |

| That's your opinion on varley dinny and that's grand.
There are players who come to this county and end up playing for either of the big 2 who aren't living or working in that area.. and that's grand also as most teams will do anything that'll give them that edge.

| As ever, people view these things in prism of self-interest... it's like that the provincial structure will never change because of money, the inter-county championship won't be reduced in number of games because of money - even though all the powers agree that the clubs are being ridden.
The transfer scene in Dublin is as Tommy says, a given, and you don't have to be from outside the county... Dubs themselves move with impunity. But with a Dub team winning an All-Ireland or Leinster regularly, that's mighty, great for the brand.
People go bananas about a few lads going to Australia to work after the years put into him by his club but there's no problem a lad coming into Kildare and offering himself to two or three different clubs and going to the highest bidder, regardless of where he lives, or in the case of Dublin, growing up with one club, becoming a county player and then moving to another club... but then that has happened in Kildare too.
Everyone has an agenda, and butter it up in bettering themselves, playing at a higher level and so on- it's the same muck that follows amalgamation talk when it suits them... Things aren't always black and white, there will always be a lot of middle ground but at times, there is a very obvious right and wrong but when the authorities have absolutely no intention of adjudicating, you just grin and bear it as they bring out the gimp
