| What changes if any would fellas make for the next day, if as it looks like all will be fit... cribben for slattery ?.. bit harsh on the lad, but it might suit him coming in when legs tire.. and what about Neal Flynn?. Same option maybe. | |

| Its clear Hawkfield training v much being into account as seen with Brophy starting. That means the lads have the guts of four weeks to take back a jersey. Overall it would be very harsh to drop lads but P Cribbbin if fit should come in. Hopefully numbers will swell in terms of support. | |

| It's a lovely problem for Cian to have, that is, a headache with regards to the selection. The way things are shaping up it seems there's more or less the whole squad to chose from - something we haven't seen in Kildare for many many years. I wouldn't change anything in the backs after that performance on Saturday, they were outstanding. | |

| Cribbin for Slattery all day long. Amazing that Neil Flynn now not a definite starter.. that appendix has a lot to answer for. But you couldn't drop McNally after his last two performances. | |

| I wouldn't change anything either. If you get injured and your replacement comes in and does a good job then you have lost your place and it's his to keep until you play better or injury changes it again.
For once in years we have a squad that doesn't weaken when changes are made. Like every team we have key players, Hyland, Doyle, Feely, Kelly and Flynn. Which happens to be the spine of the team.

| Cant see O Neill making any changes. Im not sayin we can take the All Ireland champs on their home patch but Dublin are going to get beat in Leinster eventually they cant keep winnning and surely we are due a bit of luck against them.. | |

| With possibly 2 very mobile midfielders in McCarthy and Fenton, one of my main concerns would be Moolick's lack of pace.
We have passed all tests this year with flying colours, only one remains - get the Croke Park monkey off our backs.

| Yeah I think there's a case to be made to start Paul Cribbin at midfield if he's fit. That's not a reflection on Moolick's form, more a case of horses for courses. Slattery's pace and versatility will come in handy against McCaffrey. Slattery is equally comfortable in the half back line and played the last twenty minutes of the Laois game back there. | |

| Be tough on Slattery to be dropped after all he has done this year. Dublin usually change their midfielders during a game so Cribben would be a great sub to bring in. What age is Slattery? | |

| Slattery is 27. Dont think he ever featured for Kildare underage. Seen him play for Blanch IT in Sigurson a few years ago and i have been a fan since. | |

| He was in college with graham geraghty of meath who said he was a guy with great dedication and if all players were like him Kildare would have a serious team | |

| Happy to say Slattery has totally made me eat my words. At the start of the league, I was annoyed at a few players not being involved, and I didn't think Slattery was county standard. Then he comes in against Down and smashes in two goals, and has been excellent ever since.
Also hugely impressive that against Meath, he came out from the corner and stepped into the Paul Cribbin role without missing a beat - got on the ball out the field and ran at the Meath defence. That takes some doing. So hats off to him and it was another of the (many) things I've been wrong about!

| Im not sure we are giving Roli Sweeney enough credit lads. I think bringing him on board has been every bit as crucial as getting star men back like Brophy, Feely, Flynn. From what i heard he has a massivr input tactically to whats going on. | |

| Paul Cribbin won't make the 15 - wow we have come a long way lads!
For a big game like this I would still play him with Slattery coming on if one of the forwards tires in second half. Cribbin's workrate will be invaluable against those blue feckers.
I'd still consider Neil Flynn for McNally depending on how training goes over next 4 weeks but accept that would be harsh. At the highest level these are choices that have to be made though. Depends whether management feel Cotse has truly improved dramatically as a player or just had a hot streak in 2 games.
But I'd find room for Cribbin definitely if fit.
Nice problems to have.

| Yeah no - would agree with all that K65 - great match report again btw! - but just wanted to acknowledge that I was totally wrong about Slattery. God knows we do enough giving out as supporters so I think it's only fair to acknowledge we're wrong sometimes as well! | |

True. Probably no coincidence we've gone back to a 2-2-2 tactic that Roli would have known from Geezer's days.

Thanks HG. Yeah don't get me wrong. Think Slattery and McNally have been brilliant. But it's a squad game and to have so many pushing for a spot is really encouraging. The one thing I don't agree with above is the idea of dropping Moolick. The man's workrate is phenomenal and crucially important possession-wise. Yes we could ideally do with some more pace at midfield but we've pace to burn around the middle 8/9 generally which compensates. Dropping Moo would be the equivalent of dropping Willie McCreery back in the day.
