his term in Rhode was up and join the Tipperary football management.

| It's true Athy want to play football, but to me that's actually an advantage – Dublin and Mayo have shown an attacking style isn't incompatible with success. But Athy need to sort out their defensive set-up and develop a hard edge. Otherwise Moorefield and Sarsfields will keep walking all over them when things get serious. | |

| They’re a different breed in Athy. Turning their noses up at good managers to play their attacking but non-effective football. Living in their own little bubble while Moorefield and Sarsfields hoover up county titles. | |

| Time will tell with Athy but one thing is for sure. They have blown any momentum they had when doing well at underage. Absolutely blown it. They have potential but we have been saying that for years. | |

| Athy were well beaten by Sarsfields in a semi when Kellaghan was in charge. A year later they were unlucky to lose to the same team in the final. Athy were never as good as as some seemed to think. They never had much strength in depth as was shown in the loss to Moorefield. Contrast the quality of the subs that day, Sweeney and Houlihan to an overweight full forward??? McCarran would be an addition but Kingston has been rumoured for many years and is highly unlikely imo. | |

| Athy remind me of Laois under Micko, think their senior success prob came just too soon and lads lost the run of themselves. Feely going away was a major loss for them too. |

| It is far too quiet alright... Cabin fever is setting in and I even posted about International Rules one day. It's awful in the off-season when it's just non-stop Premiership shite. You can only have so much interest in Intermediate Leinster Club Championship. Thank God League starting in January this time. | |

| You’re not getting blown away by the “November Series” or whatever it’s called?
Rugby lads and their Off The Ball alickadoos getting their knickers in a twist because people like me call a spade a spade on Twitter and call them friendlies. A “Test” is something totally different apparently.
Oh and we’re apparently 2nd best in the world now despite having crashes and burned in the 6 Nations and never going beyond the last 8 of the WC.
Egg-chasers you gotta love them.
Roll on the OB C. At least they hand out a trophy.

| K365 - I nearly caused a riot on Facebook when I said "historic" Chicago win over All Blacks was meaningless. If there was a World Cup game next week they'd absolutely paste us. Was at Denmark World Cup qualifier and we briefly got a sight of the promised land when Duffy scored. Then of course we got stuffed and now it's back to Premiership and rugger claptrap. I have to give sports media a wide berth at this time of year... As you say bring on O'Byrne Cup!! | |

| Murnaghan must be getting a good wedge for taking on that job.
Athy again showing zero ambition.

| It's a decent sign in terms of having an eye on future county prospects that there are lads like Glavin with Moorefield, Flanno with JTB, Kennedy with Athy, Ennis with Maynooth sticking to their own clubs and learning the ropes. Glavin surely must be a man with an eye on the big job in the years to come. Just saying in terms of keeping it in-house there are some good young managers around. | |

| How many games will he play for Athy in reality ?? if he is still playing for tyrone and they reach super 8 while we don't qualify for example he might not play any games if Athy are knocked out early !! | |

| Yeah that's a good point in fairness. He might not even play a game if still in heat of the battle come late championship time with Tyrone. Will be interesting to see. Super coup for Athy all the same | |
