From what I seen of Allenwood last year they really struggled. They have a few good steady players but not enough to challenge. Lets face it. Eadestown beat them in the relegation quite comfortably and they are certainly no world beaters. I'm sure if we were talking about Eadestown you would say they would not challenge for intermediate.

Big teams like Ballyboden usually go for a big name manager with good experience of managing teams at a high level. Thats my opinion. Rainbow although he has some experience was only involved with Sarsfields as an assistant/coach. I am sure if he was top quality or if they thought he would be a good manager they would not of let him go.

Fergal Foran new Confey manager. He trained Na Fianna for the last 2 years. He's brought in Shane Barrett as a trainer. Shane is a former pro soccer player and also played for Na Fianna in the latter stages of his career.

All opinion of course but i think Allenwood are as good as any intermediate team but thats there level at the moment. Edestown will struggle as will 4 or 5 other teams at that level.

Anthony Rainbow managed at intercounty level so I'm not sure what level you would like him to go too. I'm not sure if Sarsfields wanted him to stay on or not , maybe he didn't want to stay on but I'm sure the fast majority of clubs in kildare would be delighted if Anthony was managing them.

out of 16 , id say we got 14 th out of the lucky bag. our rivals are in a leinster final with a young ambitious quality coach and we we appoint a failure in sash , miltown and maynooth. 
we have some chance of closing the gap.

Just worthwhile in terms of looking at this thread. In my mind looking at in-house lads shows that the madness has stopped. There are some clubs that have suffered fools for big a big outlay.
