I believe that some teams didn't use the dressing rooms last week, probably not a bad idea but then again the weather was very good.

Great to see that Con Kavanagh & Tadgh Hoey both played for Sarsfields last weekend. Nice to see that Glenn will release lads to play for their clubs when they aren’t involved in match day squad. Saw Niall Kelly played for Athy last weekend, thought he was off travelling or do management just not fancy him?

Interesting that Neil was fit enough to play, hopefully he'll be in contention for Kildare in championship as I believe he is the best equipped for the No 10 jersey with Ben at 11 and Paul Cribbin at 12.
What was his form like? It also makes me wonder if he is fully fit and maybe Glenn just doesn't fancy him??

What’s the story with TMH? That was some hammering at the weekend against Maynooth.

I'd say probably caught cold by a good Maynooth team, doubt they are as bad as that result suggests.

Was at the Sash v Moorefield game at the weekend to describe it as a poor game of football would be kind. It was like watching Jimmy McGuinness 2011 Donegal playing against each other. Both teams got plenty of bodies back behind the ball but the transition into attack was no existent for both teams. I believe that there was only 7 scores from play over the course of the whole game, 1-3 for Moorefield and 3 points for Sarsfields. Both teams have players to come back into their teams I know that but that alone won't be enough unless/until they have some way of getting their scoring up.
Sarsfields have scored 10 points and 9 points in their 2 games, while Moorefield have scored 1-07 and 1-06. Those totals won't be winning many games come championship.

There's a changing of the guard at the moment in Kildare football.... Big towns in the north are finally getting their act together to challange the south county aristocrats..... there will be blood!

I watched Athy play last weekend. Very very strong display from them but christ the refereeing was awful. Stopped the flow of the game but at least he was consistently poor with his decisions towards both sides.

Was it the referee who was listed in the fixtures? I'd be surprised if it was because I've always rated him highly.
Athy have a shot this year without a doubt... who's over them?

A few interesting results. Naas and Athy looking strong, Confey beating Celbridge was a surprise, Raheens well positioned too, unusual to see Carbury and Moorefield propping up the table!!

Any dates set for championship yet? Interesting odds on PP. Hard to pick a winner in senior, could go anyway for 5/6 teams, great to see. Cloghs or Kilcock to go down. Leixlip or Castledermot in the intermediate. Still very early in the year, but just some early thoughts.

The only real value I see in that for a speculative punt is Raheens... They're overpriced at 16/1..... Moorefield at 5/1 is way off, there's 6 teams ahead of them in the pecking order.
Clogherinkoe are currently bottom of Div 2 and winless so you'd have to say they're favourites to go down at this stage but there's not much in it looking at the other bottom 7 teams

Hard to look beyond Naas, they have been playing a lot of football over the last 12 months or so in different competitions but the vast majority of them are in their early 20's.
I suspect only Celbridge and maybe Athy might be able to match them.

Wouldn't write Sash off. They were very close to them in the final last year, it could esily have gone Sash's way, and they'll be out for revenge this year under Davy Burke.
I'd be very surprised if Naas won it again this year
