Mayo eye six-figure return from season tickets

The all-important match ticket
05 November 2010

The Mayo County Board expects to earn revenue in excess of €125,000 from a new season ticket scheme to be aimed at supporters and clubs in the New Year.

The so-called "red and green season ticket" is set to cost €200, which will entitle supporters to a specific seat in the new stand at McHale Park in Castlebar for the four NFL games against Down, Kerry, Armagh and All-defending league and All-Ireland champions Cork.

The bearer will gain complimentary admission to Mayo's away league games, in Galway, Dublin and Monaghan, as well as the county's first Connacht SFC match of 2011 and all club matches in the county, from the senior grade right down to underage.

summary: free into 7 national league games both away and home, plus first round champ, and all gaa games in the county (all grades). and you even get a seat (what that).

wake up kildare county board and stop ripping people off, are the county board really the goverment??????

That's a great idea. Especially getting into all gaa games in the county free. Kildare should definitely try and come up with something like this too.

to be fair sillycow its not really free into 7 National League games, it does cost you €200.

There are some big games in that Division 1 for Mayo : Galway,Kerry,Cork, Dublin, Armagh and Down. Those kind of games would entice people to buy the season ticket.

More so than Sligo,Antrim and Donegal in Division 2.

The best idea of that is that you can get into all games in the County free of charge. for someone who attends a lot of games that would be a great idea.

I'm sure the county board would give you a seat in Conleths too.

Its called Club Kildare here (granted you don't get the away league games but you do get all home league & championship games). Please the revenue goes to a good cause...........

But with club kildare you cant go into club or underage games.

They wont bring it in here as it'd upset the club kildare thing.
Great idea for people who attend a lot of club and county games.Wouldn't worry too much about away games.200 into any games you want in conleths would be good IMO.

Is it too much to ask the CB and Club Kildare to get the heads together and organise something?
Its the paying public that count here and if that upsets Club Kildare or anybody else, then fcuk them.

The oly way Kildare GAA are going to get arses on seats is by offering value for money.
Its kinda hard to sell seast in a delapedated stand!

Agree there newbridgefan. How could they sell a seat, when theres fare more terrace in the stand, than seats?

Just because someone else came up with the idea doesn't make it a bad idea... they should do it and not change the price - it would bring in more revenue in the long run I'd say
