| There is a programme on RTE tonight at 7.30 about the life and career of Dermot Earley snr, I'm sure it will be worth tuning into. | |

On a side note to this all of Dermot's medals are on display in the museum in the curragh camp (near the Centra shop) It is free in and is well worth seen this display if nothing else.

| It was a great programme. He was such a gentleman to everybody. It's such a sad story.
And he'll always be remembered as a "mighty" man!

| Well said Lily4life, we must try and rise above the pettiness. I thought Mary and young Dermot showed great dignity in the programme. Their hearts must be broken. | |

| As an outsider i.e. with no particular allegiance to Kildare or Roscommon, I found it to be one of the most moving tribute programmes I have ever seen. The archive footage of Dermot playing for Roscommon in the 70's and 80's brought back many childhood memories for me while the warmth, dignity and love with which Dermot Jnr. and Mrs. Earley spoke were inspirational.
A great programme which did justice to a wonderful family.

Poor KC, just as people had stopped posting stuff about Moorefield, and started being nice and now he's not around to see it... On a brighter note turdman tackle is back it seems...

| Certainly one of the more emotional sporting programmes I have seen in my lifetime. And whilse I knew a lot of the stories and had seen a lot of the footage before. I think it was seeing Dermot's pride and emotion as he spoke of his Dad that really struck me. Its an awful shame that in a time when the GAA needs a guiding light that this man is not here. He was tailor made for GAA presidency, what a loss he really is..... | |

| Great tribute to Dermot. He would have made a brilliant President. There is no one remotely like him in Ireland today. Dermot Jnr has some shoes to fill but listening to him the other evening he already has a lot of his father's traits. | |
