| I'd be very surprised if JD is being detailed to mark Reilly. | |

Yeah let Meath worry about who is going to mark Johnny!

| I think Geezer is trying to psyche Banty out of it. Naming Bolton midfield in the hope that it will force Banty into naming Reilly at wing-forward, where Geezer wants Reilly to play all along.
Regardless of who wears what number, I think Bolton will pick up Reilly, whether Reilly plays in midfield or half-forwards.

| Beginning to think we will win by a few. On a side note, was watching back over the Offaly game and noted the Sunday Game again having a shot at our forwards. This is a complete myth at this stage but let's not get reality in the way of a biased opinion. For those interested, here are the stats... Between 2009 and the Offaly game, Kildare appeared in 21 championship matches, scoring 23 goals, a figure not skewed by any rout. Across 2009 and 2010, they averaged 1.2 goals and 15 points per game, or 18.6 per championship outing, which made them the highest scoring team in the country over those two seasons. Last year wasn't as good but Kildare still averaging 16.6 points per game. Even in this year’s league, t9-105 made Kildare the highest scoring team across all four divisions bar Wexford and excluding Kilkenny’s results.

| And these stats have constantly been produced since 2009 but the quality of analysis is such even though guys are being paid big bucks they're not doing research. And what's more, the researchers of the programmes don't appear to be doing the research for the analysts either. I mean to be scoring so heavily for four seasons now and that still to be said.
What would be accurate to say is that the rate of scoring has dropped in the 1/4 finals - or the semi-final -- generally, in the games that they've been knocked out . That's because the teams are better, the defences are better, the tactics are better, teams have designed plans, the pressure on the ball is greater, the pressure on the frees is greater etc.
Of course a lot of the analysts, that's been the only time they've seen Kildare in a year.
I've been saying here for a while that Kildare are much better than Meath and I expect them to win comfortably enough if they're clinical. As for the naming of the team, I don't know about psyching out Banty, wherever Reilly is named, Kildare will have decided what their match-up will be. I'd have thought it was Bolton, but now that they've named him in midfield, I'm wondering if it's too obvious and they've someone else in mind for it. So that might be the psyching part. It's all part of it. It's like Tyrone would never have expected Bolton to be the man marking Mulligan and probably had plans to mark Bolton! I don't know if I'd be able for that craic at all!!

| Ogie, have to agree that Kildare are much better than Meath. We really should have beaten them out the gate in Croker last year only for 19 wides. Geraghtty's goal should have been irreleant. Also think we are a better team than last year and have a good league and win over Tyrone. Still think O'Connor can do a lot more ans its encouraging that the forwards are reacting quicker when he wins the ball. We really need to be converting those goal chances and a little dink over the keeper rather like a Pirlo penalty might be worth a try. Despite all that I'm getting very nervous as its Meath! | |

| The only game I've never had nerves about was Offaly this year. The butterflies are back now, just because it's natural at this stage. But if you were not connected to the Counties and looked at the game impartially and analytically then Kildare should win 80% of the time at this junction in time. It's those 20% that make everybody suffer. It will get worse before it gets better but I'm sure the lads will pull through. | |

| Butterflies kicking but I just think its a must we win..If we really have aspirations of winning silverware games like these will be the easiest ones on the path to the holy grail of leinster and maybe all irelands..we just got to go out there and try beat Meath as easy as possible and make others stand up and show that kildare mean business this year..Of course it wont be as easy as this but I believe we have superior quality to beat them by at least 5... Stopping the threat of Reilly is a must also | |

| Kevin Reilly expected to miss out if the rumours are to be believed. He'd be a big loss for them. Top class full back. | |

| Up on Hoganstand that Reilly is out, team named Menton in at full back with Lenehan in the corner. Bray not picked I take it due to lack of match fitness Reilly a big loss not only a solid old school full back but also one of the more experienced guys in the team. Menton played centre-back against Wicklow, not sure where he played against Carlow?? Take it he's not a natural full-back??? | |

| Menton played centre back against us in Croke Park last year and also in the league match in Newbridge. He's only young but he's quite strongly built and is a typical hardy Meath hoor! I'm not sure how much experience he has in the full back position.
Wouldn't surprise me if Kevin Reilly did play. Banty is notorious for these dummy teams and injury smoke screens - even more so than McGeeney.

| Newsflash: Kevin Reilly is injured...................... again, the guy is premanently injured, even for club matches, he is one of those players that seems to make an excuse before a ball is kicked..........
Anyways, lets get it on, I'm chomping at the bit here!!!!!!!!!!

| Is it just me but when I see that Meath full forward line I get uneasy. I know we have kept them very quiet in past games but I also remember what these lads can do when things do fall for them. The butterflies are really starting now but I am hopefull of a good win on Sunday. Kildare by 5.

| Jaysus lads its very quiet on this thread today, 2 days to go before we clash with the orks and hardly a whisper. Just heard on the radio this morning that Kevin Reilly and Stephen Bray are out, still very nervous, Anthony Moyles said on Newstalk last night that if Meath were still in touch with 10-15 minutes to go they will "sneak it'. I suppose he was not going to say anything else. | |

Kildare by 5.
For me two of them are overweight and the other has to have it on a plate. If our full back line plays up to scratch we'll contain them.

| that is a terrible full back line for meath, as a unit i dont think those 6 backs have ever played together before. an early bombardment of the meath square and i can see us kicking on comfortably.
