From the source that brought you the news that Butsy was back in the squad i can tell you as recent as up to 30 mins ago that Grimley stormed away from trainin.Word has it he wanted to start Hanratty but Banty wanted to stick with Gollogly
What do we make of this?
I reckon I wouldn't pay much heed to that. I suspect the mind games are starting...no better man than Grimley.

| Big test for Peter Kelly if he is marking Tommy Freeman, we will have to watch not to leave him isolated and get some extra bodies back into that area, looking forward to the game and the day, kildare to win in a high scoring game, C'mon the lillies. | |

| Usual crap that comes out of a camp after a bad defeat. Wouldn't believe a word of it.
Concentrate on getting our own game right and hopefully we'll be alright.

| No harm there I suppose, good to have his experience coming off the bench if/when required. He is no full forward (completely lacks the pace), but I would imagine he will be needed at some stage tomorrow around the middle where physical toughness is gonna be a must tomorrow.
Make no mistake Monaghan will hit us hard tomorrow especially around the middle (and not always legally) - they will target Dermots knee and Flynn's temporment.
The bottom line is - We have better players all over the park, we must match their intensity and we must keep our disipline - even in the face of the fiercest provocation.
Get on top early and do not let Monaghan settle, they will still be hurting from last Sunday - but the longer they are in the game, the more danngerous they will become.

| You seem to have all the know carburyman, you might as well tell us their starting positions as well. Do you also think Paul Grimley walked out on Monaghan to rejoin Kildare ? Let's have a wee look at your predictions tomorrow night .... | |

| Thanks for the best wishes Armagh4sam, tell me, why is an orchard man supporting Kildare? is it because of Geezer?, because whatever happens tomorrow I will remain convinced that Geezer is the best thing to happen to Kildare in many a year and Kildare can continue to improve under his influence and I hope he stays for as long as possible. | |

Yip, Geezer my sporting hero. Hope he succeeds wherever he is, although I wish it was with us. Of course, everyone has a soft spot for the Lilywhites anyway.

| Armagh4sam, gezer is my sporting hero, not yours.
in fairness some lads around here in Kildare are waiting for him to fail for some reason. Everyone has an opinion or vested interest on who should be in the team, on the panel, captain, midfield that when there not they are not happy. For me these aren't true Kildare GAA fans and are only in it for themselves. |

| If we should lose tomorrow, and God forbid, it is very possible, I will still feel the same, Geezer should be offered a minimum of another 2 years. Eugene McGee (love him or hate him he does talk some sense) said on Newstalk this week that it takes at least 5 years for an 'outside' manager to implement new tactics, attitudes, training methods, change mindsets etc, and while he admits to making mistakes, like all good managers he learns from them.
In all team sports - stability is vital.

. I'd expect some people would want him to fail, it's an Irish thing to wish misfortune on someone who has gained success. His success is more impressive as he went from a decent footballer to a brilliant one by hard work - the trip to New Zealand, watching the 03 presentation to take the hurt in, the countless gym time. It would appear these traits are included in his management outlook too. I hope you are foolish enough to dump him, and he comes back to us. Not. A. Chance. Though.

Everybody has different views on players, managers, tactics, performances etc. Thats what makes sport and us being fans of it so great. Its unfair to expect everyone to follow blindly no matter what, be it for managers, players, tactics etc. And its not right to brandish dissenters or people with doubts as not being true Kildare fans. Nobody wants McGeeney to fail. Thats ridiculous. Why would they? What possible reason or enjoyment would any Kildare person get from seeing the Kildare team loose? I dont buy that.
