| Also can anyone confirm. I'm hearing a three man interview panel of Ger Donnelly, Mick Gorman and Alan Dunny. | |

Not sure I would have much faith in that! |

| I'd be sick if it was Evans. His championship record is cat. Took a talented Roscommon team to defeats against Sligo and Fermanagh. For all Ryan's faults we were at least knocked out by the two best teams in Ireland. | |

Grand so, no need to panic yet. - flourman wrote:

Time to start worrying again.

| Wonder if Evans could be lined up for a director of football role? With AN OTHER brought in to manage the senior team? Probably unlikely given financial issues. | |

With AN OTHER brought in to manage the senior team? Probably unlikely given financial issues. That's how he started out in Tipp and looking at the underage performances some of their teams have put in over the last few years it mightn't be a bad appointment. Looking at how Evans fared as manager of Roscommon when he had players from successful underage teams available to him isn't the type of thing that would fill you with confidence though.

| You would always be a bit worried when other county supporters are glad to see the back of a manager. The alarm bells should be ringing in Hawkfield. Due diligence should be the order of the day. Rushing to make an appointment that will have ramifications for years to come is never a good idea. We really need to get this right, that's why people are worried as I don't think we are at rock bottom yet so the wrong choice has the potential to cause chaos. | |

| Hard to know what to believe. KFM Sport tweeted the following on Monday
"Can tell you John Evans not interested. Glenn still believed to be front runner."

| I wouldn't worry too much about what local media are saying. There's a lot of pressure on them to act like they know something, even if they haven't a clue. | |

Exactly. I don't think a man like Glenn Ryan would want to be anyone's back up plan so if he hasn't been asked now I doubt he'll be putting himself forward.

| If Glen has being offered the Job, its unlikely that it would be announced just yet, due to His current involvement with a Club Team.. John Evans is certainly a Man that would give Youth a chance.
Eamonn Fitz certainly made some very odd Sub choices, and how He didnt introduce Tommy Walsh at Mid Field for Moran is baffling, also bringing on Donaghy and taking off O Donoghoe was odd.

| True Seamus, looks like a lot of supporters may feel underwhelmed when the new manager is appointed however apart from someone internal within the county who would love to do the job most of the external guys are looking at a Team in Div 3 and not reached a Leinster Final for years not as attractive as a lot of people think especially when the €'s are not there at the moment also, sure it is like Angela Merkel has moved into Kildare GAA!!!! | |

This team have been in the shakup for the past few years and if Ryan couldn't get them up for a game against their neighbours then it dont say much for him as a manager.
They were also very lucky to survive their first game which if they had lost would have seen them fighting a relagation battle. Leave him where he is I say..... @Killian_Whelan: Glenn Ryan's Arles-Kilcruise have qualified for the Laois SFC semi-final v Emo after tonight's win over The Heath. Kildare fans may wait...

| I still say if G.Ryan was to be Kildare manager a club team in Laois would not stand in his way or Kildare c.b . I think k. Whelan a Laois man is talking shite is he for real !!!!! I be surprised if he gets it this late all the have to put out a statement to say that's he takes over after the Laois champion end of story ? | |

| As long as they get the right person I don't care how long it takes, but the lack of any apparent progress or updates is a little worrying. | |

| Evans is a league manager! McStay is a shite taller but in fairness delivered in Brigids. I think they are two fellas out for A few quid! Ryan bleeds Kildare and deserves a crack. Outside of him id go outside the box, take a chance on someone who is working there way up managements ladder. Jack Cooney with Celbridge, Oisin Mc Conville maybe! I've heard plenty good about James Nallen who served with Horan in Mayo. Maybe a young managed like him would fancy making a name for himself in Kildare. Personally I'd rank McStay and Evans as only slightly above Luke Dempsey Tom Carr and O'Flaherty! |

| A short time ago the Committee appointed to find a successor to John Evans as Manager of the Roscommon Senior Football Team reached agreement with Fergal O'Donnell and Kevin McStay and will recommend to the County Executive that the duo be appointed as Joint-Managers for a three year term, with the option of a fourth year. Subject to approval by the Executive later this week, their names will be brought before Clubs for ratification at next week's Meeting of the County Board.

| I see Johnny Murphy playing for Ellistown not sure how he is geographically fixed but if people are talking about thinking outside the box the likes of him could be worth a chat for strength and conditioning and he would be mentally strong as well so would bring some of that to the table .... | |

an email that was accidentally sent out by the munster management with their opinions of the players was not complimentary about Murphy at all especially about his attitude, mentality etc.
