| Isn't that the point though Jimmers - they wouldn't fill much of Croke Park even with a semi final double header, so my guess is they are contemplating separating the semi finals and having BOTH played at provincial venues. They just haven't the balls to tell the Dubs that just yet. | |

I was thinking the same but aren't the premium and corporate tickets sold on the understanding of a certain number of games in Croke Park each year? Although this new round robin All Ireland Quarter Final series may fill up the gap if it transpired that the Leinster semis aren't played there.

They are Central Council tickets & money and its up to them to supply the number of matches, not Leinster....... No benefit to Leinster in Croke Park, in fact they cost, as they get in free and have to be supplied with free programmes whereas any of those persons attending other venues would have to pay in & benefit Leinster !!!!

| Saw there a tweet about Kildare not having a home game for first round - worse than any other county as it stands at 22 years next summer. Louth 1995 last home game.... No surprises there - all the more reason to hopefully have conleth's development up and running over the next few years. Provincal semi finals separate would spice things up somewhat!! Its worth trying at least......I know we hammered Laois on that june evening in 2009, but it was a great occasion anyway, result aside - Saturday evening under the sun in Tullamore.... Best time for a Leinster Semi!! | |

Best time for a Leinster Semi!! I remember that Laois game like it was yesterday. The game wasnt on Tv and Tullamore was heaving that night. One of our best performances throughout the Geezer era.

| Have been at some great semi finals at provincial venues - Offaly in Portlaoise, Westmeath in Tullamore, Laois in Tullamore. Used to play a few in Navan in '80s as well but don't remember them being much fun - hammered by Offaly there and Dubs beat us too there. | |

| Yeah Rob11 it was some evening. 16000 I think were in that evening - most from us too! We played some beautiful football those days....
Crofter - Navan not a good hunting ground for us..... Like the place as a venue. Grassy hills an old school touch.

Semi Final losses to Dublin in '82 (4pts), Offaly in '83 (15 points), Quarter Final to Meath in '85 (6 points, let's not mention the air ticket!) and of course the Louth Quarter Final debacle in 2010 (6 pts). Only wins were a lucky one point win against Louth in 2002 and that qualifier win v the Royals in 2011 (3 pts). Think we should stay clear of their grassy knolls for championship.

| That betting is mental How are we so far ahead in the odds than Westmeath, Laois and others?
We would be hard pressed to beat any of those teams

| Westmeath, wexford and offaly were always going to be longer odds, as their in the dubs half of the draw. | |
