Lads Fionn wasn't able to tog out for the Roscommon match either last week end. Is county football beneath him as well? Don't let the truth stand in the way of a good story though.

What's the truth?

He's not injured.

Celbridge beat Towers by 7 - P Brophy came on with a little over 15 mins to go scored a point and was involved in a couple of other scores. F Barry had a shocker as per usual some unbelievable decisions against Celbridge throughout.

agree with flourman who watched the same game as myself. the referee hadnt his best game ever to put it mildly. a spirited performance by towers who gave celbridge a great tussle for 50 mins. maybe brophys introduction lifted celbridge and drained the confidence out of towers.

Taibi, I've been told Fionn is injured. I'd trust the person who told me but I'm not directly involved so who knows.

Went to hawkfield to watch both games. Two really good games I thought. Thought Ferbal Barry was atrocious. Very biased. Did his best to screw Celbridge.

I have a sore voice from that ref, pulled away in the last 10, great to see paddy back, if we can get him to where he was before he left I would fear no one. Was impressed with towers all the same. Good spectacle overall

TMH v Rathangan was a great game. Rathangan will be kicking themselves, they lead the game for 50 minutes until TMH got a goal. Can't help but feel they've missed their chance, especially as Peter Kelly will be back for the replay. Who is that keeper TMH have? I've never seen a keeper in Kildare with such a long and accurate kick. He looks very young.

The Celbridge v Towers game was a farce. Hard to analyse that game with such a biased referee. I don't think Mr. Barry is a fan of our northern brethren.

Good win for our lads especially considering how close Maynooth have come to beating us the last couple of years. Some great scores kicked but a lot of work to be done defensively if we are to retain the title.

In fairness . Something has to be done about Barry
. Teams prepare so well now , it s terrible that he could decide a big game.
Never saw him have a good game. Castledermot put it up to athy. Fair play to them.

Just to play devils advocate here but the two most criticised refs around the county are Fergal and Brendan Cawley, yet these are the only two on the inter county panel of refs, what are the relevant people seeing that we are missing?

I thought the ref in our game last night was very good, admittedly it wasn't the toughest game to referee. Billy O Connell who has been reffing in Kildare the last 2/3 years is another ref I think is excellent.

Didier Cordonnier is his name, I was told. Just out of minor. Makes you wonder why he wasn't the county minor keeper last year. He has a beaut of a left boot.

Have to agree Topcat, Billy O Connell seems to be head and shoulders above the normal standard. Had him for a game recently and not a cross word was said.
