No. Was expecting Kildangan to be in it as they were in the Dowling Cup but must have pulled out. Not sure what the story is with Ardclough.

According to the Kildare GAA Twitter round 1 matches will be played over two weekends, the first two weekends of May.

Are Ryan Houlihan and Adam Tyrrell still going overseas this year? Losing them would be a considerable blow to Moorefield's hopes of stopping a Sarsfields 3 in a row.

I see the county have arranged a game for 28th April so any club with county players and asked to play the first weekend will have no more than a weeks prep time for a championship match, far from ideal.

According to twitter, that challenge match (v Roscommon) is fixed for 8pm in St. Conleths on the 28th. Unless they're planning on installing floodlights in the next 10 days (!), seems a very late start particularly if it's an overcast and/or wet evening.

All the games to be played in Newbridge and Hawkfield is just pure greed by the county board.

Ridiculous playin all games in hawkfield year in year out. Games need to be moved to club grounds. Not only is it a nice money spinner for the clubs but it also gives them the chance to show off their grounds

Agree that it was great going around the grounds of the county to games 10 years ago - as a blow-in, it was a great way to learn my way around. But, I suppose it's a revenue no-brainer for the board, particularly when they've pumped so much into Hawkfield. And for a long time, people were complaining about the state of the finances and this is one clear way to ensure revenue. It is a pity though, just another unfortunate and unwelcome but inevitable by-product of commercial reality.
