| Open to correction on this, but seems to be a bit of confusion on Young Footballer Of The Year categorisation for this season.
THINK previously it was only for U21 players... But if it's U20 only this year they may as well just give it to J Hyland now.

| I'd imagine Clifford and Howard will also be nominated HG. | |

| But Colm Keys was saying in the Indo today that it may be restricted to players who played U20 ONLY. At least that was my understanding of it. I could be wrong, the article was a bit muddled. | |

Kildare should have a minimum of 7 nominations. ONeill, Dempsey, Barrett, Archibold,Masterson,Hyland and McLoughlin.

| and call out the lad who took out a player around Kildare 45 on Cusack side ( I said left half back position in earlier comment). Did someone say it was Dempsey who was taken and their 9 who did it. So he should have been gone long before he assaulted Ryan....... They had a few goes at Ryan in the few minutes leading up to "the final incident". He seemed to be targeted after he put in a perfect hit.
But all that really counts this week is an All-Ireland title has been won.
This is one very jealous BIFFO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| O Neill will definetly be pushing to start next year. gives us something different . great to have 2 good keepers where before donnellan was unchallenged with that celbridge lad a calamity. can see a good few 20s getting the call up with some real chances of starting. besides the obvious few , thought Barrett and Archibald were outstanding throughout the whole campaign.

| See a lot of Mayo heads calling us cynical. Maybe I'm looking at us through lily tinted glasses but I hardly seen any cynicism. Maybe the first black card but nothing after that. In fact I thought we were a little naive in closing it out.
Anyway it matters not a jot, All Ireland champions sounds very sweet.

| Admin, any chance you could put a picture of the U20 team on the home page. Be nice to look at an AI winning team in white! | |

| Great News,5 Kildare lads on Eirgrid Top 20 Players Aaron O Neill Mark Barrett Mark Dempsey Aaron Masterson Brian McLoughlin Jimmy Hyland.
Reckon Tony Archibold was unlucky not to make it,but you cannot argue with 25% of selection as nominated by sport writers.
Jimmy Hyland got player of year.
