81 cases in Kildare today, hard to see Kildare coming out of lockdown next week.

Very annoying that they just shoehorned an extra two days in there and said nothing.... three full weekends is very different to two weeks.
Anyway it probably doesn't matter..... more likely to be other counties joining us rather than us being freed!
When was the last time there was no Kildare Senior Football Championship? From Wikipedia it looks like it was 1900!!

Not looking good, hopefully we will receive an update from government soon, possibly tomorrow night or Wednesday at the latest.
They surely can't leave it until the Friday night this time around,

Not looking good for any football or hurling finishing this year. I seen a text the other day and it said there was 144 cases in Naas Hospital 80 at the Carbury mushroom factory 23 in NUI Maynooth and undisclosed amount at Intel if that true we are only getting the small numbers..

144 cases in naas hospital is pure & utter bullshit, why are you spreading this nonsense?

Sports events without spectators, might be all right for national events which could be screened live on T.V. but for club matches ( the ones which won't be on T.V. or streamed by county boards ) you would have to wonder if there is an appetite for it, from both supporters and players viewpoint.

GAA say there's no appetite for Inter County Matches to be played behind closed doors. So if the Government continue with the current strategy, there will be no Inter County Competitions.

I think they should scrap inter county comps for this year and give county boards/clubs some breathing room to get the club competitions completed. It may well be Oct/Nov before crowds can go back to matches if at all this year.

The GAA have spoken too soon again, just like when John Horan came out saying there would be no games until a vaccine was ready - it comes across really naive on his part.
I mean they have played the premier league, champions league, are starting to get back at Rugby and numerous other sports, all behind closed doors! It would absolutely be better to have as many supporters as possible at games, but given the choice between no games or behind closed doors games I would go for the latter every day of the week.
It would be interesting to hear what others on here have an appetite for? No games or games behind closed doors?

Very hard to compare sports where players are tested multiple times possibly per week against a lad possibly coming off a building site or meat factory straight to a game. Professional and amateur are not comparable
