Strong rumours Kildare only will remain in lockdown, hopefully untrue.

If you think about it from that point of view then I agree, professional players can isolate and get tested easier etc and it would be wrong to compare professional and amateur environments.
But a lot of the comments about there not being an appetite for playing behind closed doors are concerning a lack of atmosphere..... saying things like it wouldn't be the same or it's not fair on players if there's no crowd. This is what doesn't make any sense to me and from this point of view I don't think there's any difference between professional and amateur.

Looks like the county final will be the curtain raiser for the Kildare v Cavan match the way things are going.

Kildare should just throw in the towel for this year. Don’t play any Inter county and club football. I’ve lost interest for this year.

Its a hard call, start/stop training, contact than no contact, matches on than off. I know I'm getting feed up with it, maybe call a halt to it for 2020.
This is not, under any circumstances, meant to undermine the people directly effected by this virus.

I suppose it wouldn't be unusual for us to throw in the towel when the going gets tough!! I sincerely hope the county board are not thinking like you lads above

If the County Team is to return to training on September 14th, then how is the Club Championship going to resume ?.

I reckon county will go back on 21st September. Remainder of group games to be played on 13th and 20th September. And club will play league games without county players until county team are finished. Championship knockout resumes after county team are knocked out.

Leinster Final to be played on 21st November, if Kildare get that far the Q/Finals of the club championship probably won't be until 06th December, could be looking at a county final on Christmas week, throw in a 1.00 p.m. ???

We may get used to club football in the cold, dark, depts of winter if this split season that they're talking about comes in. I would really fear for the club game if it does.

From RTE Sport:
Chairman Mick Gorman told RTÉ Sport today that he expected club fixtures would proceed until the first two weekends of October, which were the revised dates for the county football and hurling finals until the lockdown was extended last weekend.

Emmet Bolton with him apparently. Bit light on management experience but a good appointment nonetheless

I'm hoping they'll fix championship games for next weekend in the expectation that the lockdown will be ended Friday evening. If it's extended again, difficult decisions will have to be made at county board level.

I know we are stuck for time but teams are currently doing non- contact training, not ideal going straight into championship contact scenario at 24 hours notice.
I believe championships matches will resume on Saturday 05th September, hopefully.

Jack McCaffrey left the Dublin team for a reason. He’s a doctor and deals with this corona virus everyday. I’d say he knows there’s a 2nd wave coming and that there won’t be an inter county championship this year so he decided to opt out for this year. He knows what’s coming ahead.
