I thought Moorefield were superb, 7 points down after 5 minutes, played the last 26 minutes with 14 players and still won by 6 points, bit of fire left in their belly still.

Moorefields tackling and pressure is excellent. They overwhelmed JTB. Good game to watch.

Their influence and similarities with the current county team cannot be a coincidence.nearly identical. Go missing when the going gets tough and concede scorable free after scorable free . Spoofers

Two good games in Newbridge yesterday. Once Moorefield upped the ante JTB couldn’t cope with them, seems to be a recurring theme in matches between the 2 teams. Masterson will be a big loss if his ban is not overturned.
The second game, Sash never looked like losing but got very sloppy after Bens goal just after halftime which let Raheens back into the game slightly. The two Newbridge teams are going well, will be interesting to see how Athy and Celbridge get on today.
I don’t like commenting on referees but I thought the standard of officiating in Newbridge yesterday left a lot to be desired.

Thought the second game was officiated well. At least he let the game flow. Unlike the first game which was once again ruined by a whistle happy ref.

I disagree re the second game, plenty of late hits let go. Letting the game flow is not the job of the referee, that’s down to the players. The ref is there to protect the players.

Is that the first ever penalty shoot out in the history of Kildare Gaa? What was it like if anyone was there?? It's an awful way to end a game of football. This was the stronger of the two semi finals anyway so I'd say Maynooth will still survive.
It should be a point kicking competition - 5 marks from different positions within the 45, everything else the same.
Sarsfields impressive and I'd say won't be stopped again this year

Free kicks were tried to settle tied games and didnt really work as well as penos.

Senior and intermediate semis are fixed for next weekend. Looks like they’ll complete those championships soon. Any word on when the ko stages of junior will be played?

Looking at all of the QFs so far...so much for potential challengers to the 'Top 4'...the massive gap between these Moores, Sash, Athy, Celbridge vs the rest is the biggest issue in the SFC, far greater than the number of teams in senior vs inter championships

Senior club semi final Draw Saturday Moorefield v Celbridge 2pm
Should be 2 very competitive games, both Athy and Celbridge were very impressive yesterday. Athy racking up 15 points in one half was excellent, particularly the 2 Kelly’s. I suppose the record of the 2 Newbridge teams in semi finals is something that should stand to them.
Sarsfields haven’t lost a semi final since 2004 and Moorefield haven’t lost one since 2008 and you have to go back to 1998 for the last time they were beaten by a team other than Sarsfields in a semi final.
Whereas Athy have contested 9 semi finals since 2010 only getting over the line in 3 of them.
Since 2008, Celbridge have contested 9 only winning 2.
Records are there to be broken though.
The match ups all teams go for particularly defensively will be intriguing.
Who will Sash ask to man mark Kelly
Equally who will take Ben? I would imagine David Hyland but time will tell.
Who will Celbridge put on Eanna/Adam, can they deal with the physicality of Philips on the edge of the square who I thought was very impressive on Saturday.
The key for Moorefield will be stopping Brophy who has been very impressive since his return from injury.
It has taken 28 games but we are where we all probably expected to be with the top 4 teams contesting the semi finals.

Looking and the semi finals fixtures, Senior on Saturday and Intermediate on Sunday, any chance of the Intermediate final been pushed back a week to Sunday 11th October 2020 ??
Seems strange giving the seniors 8 days preparation for the final and the intermediate only 6 days.

Who’s the Rheban player that transferred to Athy? Is he getting his game for Athy? Very tough on small clubs when they lose an important player. It’s amazing how close Rheban and Castlemitchell are to one another. 2 small clubs in close proximity to each other. Would they not be better off joining up with each other?
