| Read that Monaghan successfully appealed to the DRA and now have home advantage against Louth. I presume they do not now need to pay the 5,000 euro fine either? So now Kildare ends up the only team to pay the fine for this melee? Can the CB appeal now or is there a time limit on submitting appeals? full story here http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/championship/2012/0308/monaghan_drameeting.html | |

| The whole disciplinary system in the GAA is laughable.
Time would be better spent promoting our games and driving the organisation forward. Instead its committee meeting , appeals meetings, resolution meetings, appeals again etc etc etc
Look at the Seanie Johnston thing as well.
In most sports you take your punishment end of story and move on. Better for everyone.
County boards, managers, players and fans wont respect the rules of the game if there are always avenues to "get off"

| I think the stupidity of it dawned on the brains trust in Croke Park. What would have happened if they had to take home advantage off Dublin for a league match despite the thousands of tickets that have been sold already for their spring series? | |

| and again its referred back, typical easy way out.
Give Mon back home venue but opt out off making a decision on actual penalty, more gutless wonders

| I said at the time that Kildare cb decision not to appeal was a joke. That €5000 is another expense that is neither welcome or deserved. But god forbid we challenge the power brokers. The fine is as big a fuckin disgrace as the decision not to appeal! | |

| I read over the weekend that the decision to overturn the decision to remove home advantage from Monaghan has in fact been overturned and they will now have to play at a Neutral venue. Monaghan are going to appeal again so expect the over turned over turned decision to be over turned.
I read the reasons and to be honest I have no idea what's going on there. It involves numerous panels and a lot of hot air.
The GAA and their rules, where else would you get it.
