This is a new column we're going to try out this year to try and get more insight into the club leagues and the effort club players put in - be interested to hear what ye think. I can imagine a lot of players - current and former - will be able to relate to Ross Glavin, especially the soreness after games as you get older!

Nice one!
Would be good to post it up here every week.

Wonder is there a tendancy from the players to not highlight in this type of interview the things they do wrong or have done wrong. Might be worth exploring that like getting them to note the changes in diet or training that have helped them compared to mistakes they were making.

The other thing might be, if you injected abit of history into the players career like the significant moments (playing for Kildare, winning championship or bad injuries) and managers they worked under.

Only thoughts but like the idea.

Great suggestions maestro, like the idea of asking what didn't work because I think every player has latched onto some fad at some stage.

Will bear them in mind for future although we could end up with a small book very quickly with all that in there - might be an idea for the end of year

Here's the latest player piece - ties in nicely with Kildare under-21s victory last week

Probably should be renamed "county player". There wasn't much mention of his club.

A good read nonetheless.
