| Has team been been named?
Hope that Hurley's inclusion is just to get him some game time prior to Saturday evening.

Considering this http://www.kildare-nationalist.ie/2013/05/28/kildare-star-hurley-dropped-for-offaly-game I'd say it is instead of Saturday. Wonder what he did? OK so he's gone for Offaly game but hopefully back for the Dubs (provided we come Saturday) - he has 4 weeks after to prove himself for the Dubin game. He went on the gargle, as far as I know.

He allegedly went on the gargle. Now in itself there is nothing wrong with having a few pints. But if its a squad agreed thing that the gargle is off limits for a number of weeks well then he really only has himself to blame. Cannot be one rule for one and one for the rest. That would just never work when managing 37 footballers. All have to pulling in the one direction. Hurley went his own direction, it'll be interesting to see if he really wants to play football for Kildare or go on the lash every weekend. |

| Dont think the team or squad is announced yet for junior game on wednesday evening, wouldn't have much confidence with this team of what i seen playing last saturday week against waterford, also would love to know where in the name of god did the county board come up with manager and selectors for the junior squad that is on official website....... | |

I had heard that the Junior Team was being shelved. Goes to show how much interest and effort was put into getting the Junior team going. New Manager and Selectors in place and no trials or even word of organised sessions. Something tells me there will be a lot of familiar faces on show Wednesday night living off past glories. You could be critical of the last managers but at least they had trial matches and looked for new lads for the panel. |

| Heard up to last week they were still ringing around clubs to send lads in, its almost like they forgot all about the game.a junior c team would prepare better for championship | |

Indeed. Tony Kelly is no longer in charge so the bitterness has to be directed somewhere..

| Leinster JFC: Kildare rout Royals 29 May 2013 Kildare ....... 1-17 Meath ......... 1-7 Kildare proved to be quicker, stronger and more skilful than Meath and led all the way apart from a brief spell in the opening quarter. Even then it took Dermot Finn's charges just three minutes to erase that deficit and were never reeled in after Daniel Griffin became their fourth scorer in the ninth minute. That left it 0-4 to 1-1 and from there last year's provincial runners-up looked set for a semi-final meeting at home to Wicklow on Wednesday, June 12. With the sun and the breeze behind them a more cohesive Kildare bossed matters from then on. Meath undermined their chance of avenging last year's minimum margin defeat at Newbridge with eight first-half wides. Team captain Seamus Hanafin led the way with 1-3 for Kildare. Keith Cribbin posted five points from play. By the end the Lilywhites had eight different scorers. However an early Paddy Mahon point for the Lilywhites was countered by a brilliant solo Brian McMahon goal for Meath five minutes in to leave it 1-0 to 0-1. Within four minutes Kildare were back in front courtesy of points from team captain Seamus Hanafin, Colum Fagan and Daniel Grehan. When Keith Cribbin became the sixth Kildare player to register the electronic scoreboard read 0-6 to 1-0 midway through the half. A Brian McMahon pointed free offered Meath some respite. Then Hanafin netted expertly in the 18th minute and when the same player pointed shortly after Kildare were six points clear. Points from Cian O'Brien and Daniel Queeney improved matters for Damien Griffin's charges. However, Kildare had the last say of the half with Cian Bolton posting their first score from a placed ball. That left Kildare 1-8 to 1-3 ahead at the break. Neil Shortall's fine 33rd minute point raised Meath hopes. The home side failed to build on that score, adding three wides before Kildare opened their second-half account. Brian McMahon's tally of 1-3 was one of few highlights for Meath and his 43rd minute point temporarily halted the Kildare onslaught. When his Ratoath clubmate Bobby O'Brien posted at the start of the final quarter, Meath were 1-6 to 1-11 in arrears. Kildare superior fitness told in the final quarter. Despite playing into the breeze blowing into the town goal they outscored Meath by 0-6 to 0-1 in the latter stages. Meath did have a chance to soften the look of the scoreline but Stephen Husband was wide with a goal attempt from close range in the 55th minute. Brian McMahon brought his tally to 1-3 to make him the game's joint top scorer with Hanafin but Sean Hurley and Cribbin closed the Kildare account with a point apiece. | Forgive my ignorance, but what does and dosent qualify a Player to be eligable to represent the County Juniors?.. I assumed it was made up of Players from Junior / Intermediate Clubs, as most of the above are, but then I see a Maynooth Player named?. | |
