As I've already said, usual faces. Shame you're not available to manage. At all levels

Monasterevin were intermediate last year so they would qualify to play.. Thats mad so to say that the Leinster Intermediate Champions have no representative on the Junior Team..

| I dont think there was any trials or anything for the panel, there is surely lads from Sallins, Kill, Caragh, Raheens, Straffan to name a few clubs...good enough for the panel at least....to name a few players for example....
Dan Campbell Austin Allen Kevin Corrigan Jack McCormack
There is many lads to pick from....

Huge Choice for subs: Mark Herbert, Timmy Doyle, Dan Campbell, Austin Nevin, Austin Allen, Brian Bell, Jamie Lambe, Dean Hanely, Cian McGonagle, Jacko McCormack, Wayne Fiztpatrick, Austin Tighe,Ken Donnelly, Cian Gaynor, Fell free to pick holes. The junior team last night has some fine individual players. My team there I believe would beat them. |

I'm not sure on both accounts. I can't legislate for lads who are injured, or who have emigrated, or who have moved for work or who gave up football ect ect ect. I'm basing it on last year or two. |

| if you played senior club championship last year, or are a senior club this year means you cant play, so that rules out monasterevin players as there senior now and the maynooth player can play as he didnt play championship last year | |

You were mouthing off the other day about players being picked on past glories, I would say your team has more players on it who are no longer good enough. Have you seen Tadgh Fennin playing lately? If you have he wouldn't be on your team. Surprised Colin O'Shea didn't start last night.

| I haven't seen him play recently no. But as he finished top scorer in Junior Championship and was on Junior team of the year picked by Ger McNally I just presumed he was doing something right.
My comment on past glories was lads who have been playing junior for Kildare for quite some time and being picked by a new manager without having trails or trial matches. It was More a slight on management rather than the players themselves. As I don't believe the best lads are being utilised.
Your own club man Andrew Behan would be a good shout for it too. Possibly Merrins also.
Other than tadhg have you a problem with the team Taibi?

| There's 4 or 5 decent teams in the Junior Championship, outside of that the rest are just cannon fodder for any half way decent corner forward to rack up big tallies.
It's a good team particularly the backs but I would have O'Shea and Barker in place of your two wing backs, I'm not familiar with your midfielders at all. Apart from Fennin, your forward line is good.

| I was naming players that weren't involved with Panel other night. But I agree O'Shea and Barker are decent players.
Nurney seem to be struggling with the Junior fodder in Division 3 Taibi, are you going to come up this year or what? |

| We're missing a good few lads with injuries, work and exams at this time of the year. To answer your question, no it doesn't look like we will be going anywhere. | |

| Heisenberg I think it depends on what you want out of the Juniors. Do you want to just pick the best 15 individual players, or are you using it as a stepping stone to the Seniors? If it's the first one, then yes, some of the lads on your team should be there. If it's the other, though, then you have to take in all sorts of factors such as whether the player you've picked in willing to live the lifestyle of an inter-county player, what age he is, and stuff like that. That would rule out a lot of players on your team and a lot of players mentioned in this thread. I know a lot of excellent club footballers who just can't make that sort of sacrifice - they're not cut out for it - and fair play to them, nothing wrong with that. You have two or three of them on your team.
There's also the fact that some players you mention have been given chances with Kildare before and weren't good enough. Your team is strong in some areas, but I still think the junior team selected would beat it, because of the likes of Sean Hurley, Keith Cribbin and Seamus Hanafin.
And I just can't see the logic of asking Tadhg Fennin, a legend who peaked more than 10 years ago, to play on the county junior team.
Mind you, two lads on your team I definitely would have thought might make it to some degree are Gavin Smullen and Ciaran Gravin.

| Just looking at the actual Team that lined out, and the Subs introduced, and I hate to even bring this ould Topic up TBH, but the vast majority of Players involved are from North Kildare Clubs.. There are no Players from Robertstown, Ellistown, Monasterevin, Ballykelly, Nurney, Rathangan, all South Kildare ... Maybe they had no one good enough ??? | |

I know you can debate which side of the line certain clubs in the middle of the County are on Seamus, but if you divide players based on whether their clubs play in the North or South Board you'll find that 10 of the 19 players used on Wed play with clubs affiliated to the North Board. Hardly the vast majority.

Robertstown hardly South Kildare ?? haha lads ye have a very short memory , sure for the best part of the history of kildare gaa all senior, junior, minor, county teams never had much from north kildare on them! Hate to be writing this, but that is the truth and none of ye can deny it. Many players over the years from Leixlip, maynooth were never picked. So don't be complaining in this instance!! Robertstown is not south kildare either.
