I counted 13 out of 19 from North Kildare Clubs..

Yeah I'd say those who really wanted to play did and they did very well 1.17 to 1.7 against Meath is good anytime.

God lads, haven't posted in years but just thought this thread was too hilarious not to comment on. Are we so used to complaining about the state of Kildare football over the years that we actually don't know what to do when players deserve some praise. Give me 10 points against the biffos tomorrow and I'll take and I don't care who is on the field Very Happy

As someone who was at the game a few thoughts:

Keith Cribben was excellent and i reckon Geezer will call him back into the panel in the coming weeks.

Good performances too from Colm Fagan, Seamus Hanifan, Darren Barker, Willy Burke and at times Sean Hurley.

The Hurley debate is one that has been done countless times over the past couple of years, would love to see him put his head down and have a great summer. Maybe his club man Daniel Fylnn jumping ahead of him will show that he has lost ground and is entering a big year or so for him to make the step up!!!

Lets just take this comp for what it is, a chance for young players to shine and a chance for others to wear the county jersey.

Great to see Karl Ennis as part of the management team.

Clynch, O'Connor, Burke, Warren, o'Shea, Byrne, Barker, Grehan, Hurley, Cribbin, Hannafin, Fagan, Mcnally, Bolton, Mahon.

Good mixture of under 21's in there along with some lads who would have been on the junior panel that reached the all Ireland final two years ago.

Only familiar name on the Wicklow team is Lambert the goalie who played for DIT when they won the league and Sigerson.

It should be pointed out that it was pissing rain and they were slipping and sliding all over the place. The second half was also played in near darkness. And Kildare came from 7-5 down to win 8-7 to reach their third consecutive Leinster final. So yeah, it wasn't a game you thanked the Lord you lived to see, and I certainly was dreading extra time - incidentally, I don't think it could possibly have gone ahead given how dark it was - it is important to note that conditions are difficult.

He didn't play championship for Athy last year as he was suspended so he is eligible.

Hugh Mahon didn't come on but presumably he was eligible to be named. And if he didn't play senior, he is eligible. Same with Johnny Byrne as he didn't play with Allenwood until the relegation play-off, which bizarrely, isn't deemed actual championship for grading purposes.
